"Pink floyd in Pompeii" was horribly butchered by the director on the recent DVD. While it looked and sounded great, he inserted some footage filmed recently, and added some horrible Pompeii CGI scenes. Fortunally, the original theatrical release is available on the disc.

In cases where he has gone back and altered his films, Ridley Scott has always made a decent effort to ensure that both versions are available. The only exception that comes to mind is Blade Runner, but that is because of the actions of Jerry Perenchio, who controls the rights to the film.
