I think it would be a pretty good idea, but I dunno how the rest of the board(or Jay) feels about it.

I haven't used IRC in years. I can't even remember how to go about getting a channel registered.

Anyone want to take charge of this?

JWe did have an IRC channel for some time, I'm not sure where - I was there once or twice. I would help and create one, but I currently cannot access IRC except for a few moments during weekends. However this might change soon, and if I get proper internet connection at home, I'll create another channel for it. I think it'd cool to be able to talk with some of you guys in real time.

Meanwhile, whoever created that non-official IRC channel, are you still there? Do you remember where it was and what it was called?

I agree, we could cut out alot of the drama and other bs that has taken over the OT boards.

IRC is good, but there is the potential for other problems as well, like lurkers and trolls who don't belong there. What about some type of IM clients? If we knew eachother's screen names, we wouldn't even have to sign onto the web. Plus, there's more control involved.
