the main reason I got mad. It is when Rikter said I'll get your movies on trade from somebody else. I'm sorry for selling DVDs. like I said before this is a private set and if anybody wants one they can e-mail me. The Ewok movies I paid $150 on eBay. if someone wants a set I have to burn three DVDs and then stand in line at the post office. I really do not care if someone copies my DVDs but I do think it is arrogant when somebody says I'll get your copies later in somebody else or in trade. this DVDs set was basically made from me and some for friends and family. But somebody wants a set may they can e-mail me about details are. I do apologize to the form of this web site. But I'm sorry it get on my nerves when somebody says "I'll get them in a trade or buy them from another" I have no plans to sell on eBay at all. I have no problems if people make copies for their friends or family members. And I have no control if people want to trade them for other things.

Actually, he's only being honest. Every other version you see on these boards is or will be available as a BitTorrent. If you sell to someone on these boards, it'll be there much quicker than if you sold it on E-Bay.

Considering how many free versions there are already available, coming to these boards to sell yours really isn't in your best interests (not to mention the fact that you're not allowed to sell your version on these boards anyways.)

You should spend some time getting to know a board and its people, then none of this would have happened.

You do realize the Ewok films come out on DVD in November for about $10, right? I'm sorry to hear you wasted $150 for LDs of them.

I thought only one EWOK movie was coming out. I'm not mad that i bought the LD's I like to have them just like people like recorders. GL might edit them again these EWOK movies. If he does I'm glad I have the LD's. I bought them about a year ago any way.

It's both on the same disc, probably one per disc layer. I would imagine they would be very bare bones, 2.0 audio and no extras. I seriously doubt Lucas would have anything more to do with these films as they're just TV movies for children.

The way GL is now if he was going to redit the second one the family might not die. But There might be a problem with the ending as the little girl and the old man take off.

I doubt that GL cares enough about the Ewok movies to put ANY work (additions, deletions, corrections, whatever) into them.

And you shouldn't be...I have a modest collection of LD's, but I do like having them. I also have some really old 8-inch floppy discs. Back in the day. sigh.

Guys, I don't know why you are even concerned about whether there would be changes or not. A year ago, there was no indication that these films would be on DVD (and only vague rumors that the "original trilogy" would even be on DVD.) At the time, it made sense to get these LDs if you liked these films.

MeBeJedi, you take your time and whenever we get to see your work, we get to see it (I'm REALLY looking forward to it). It is I. THE Ferris Wiel. I don't intend to be incendiary around here or get myself kick-banned again for angering the Canadians (although Krogenar and I never did get a reprieve or our day in court). Anyhow, the Spider DVD set sounds nifty but I am happy with my TR47 discs and the price was better on the TR47s.

I just wanted to pop in with the one-liner about the Ewok movies. I've been skulking for over a month now but never posting or even registering.

Star Wars on LD does show it age as a old movie. And MPEG 2 play back might not look so good after the capture of the video. If your making your own set play back the DVD in a new DVD player. My E80 makes the video look just like the LD. But when I play it back in my Pioneer JVC or APEX the color pop out very nice. My LD's look very nice if you just watch the LD's but you do see a drop when you have play them back on my E80. It does not look bad. But when you play it back in another DVD player that fixs the black level problem that Laer Disc has the color pop of the screen so nice. so play your Star Wars in other DVD players

What Im saying old DVD player there MPEG2 decoder chips are not that good. Newer DVD player that have the right black level and white balance will give the best picture. I have a $500.00 dollar sony dvd player about five years old and the picture looks better on my $100.00 dollar APEX.

I play with my Dads sony DVD player you have to set the colors so the DVD looks good. Pioneer APEX and JVC look good from the start.

I feel that $20.00 dollars is not alot. For the people that do video editing of it is not a cheap hobby. My laserdisc player cost me $1000 my DVD recorder costs be $700. Plus I bought three Star Wars face cents trying to get the best copy I could. Trying to avoid laserdisc errors. Each of the Star Wars face sets cost me about $70 dollars.I do not like it when people try to get things for nothing and somebody else has to do all the hard work. It took me about nine hours to make this DVD set. This set is made for people that do not have laserdisc players were do not have the knowledge to make a DVD set themselves. The money that use goes back into video editing.
TR-47 was a lot like you not long ago (despite the fact he didn't author the set, AFAIK). But he calmed down, which was a good thing. I think you have to understand that you can't stake a claim on something you've bootlegged from someone else's intellectual copyright and then expect to dictate how it is used/distributed. There are a lot of people here who've contributed a lot of time and money. Rikter uploads them; that's pretty committed. LaserMan has helped a lot of bootleggers with their transfers.

I know, that speaking for myself I buy lots of blank media (at a good price) and so long as I make that money back I'm happy. And it doesn't take much to make that money back. Now you can't complain that your equipment cost so much. Are you telling me that you want other people to pay for YOUR LD's, YOUR LD player, and YOUR DVD recorder? Not to mention someone else's intellectual property.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll cool down soon enough. I would like to get hold of your set sometime, but I'm interested in a bit more info. Is the audio dolby 2.0 or PCM (uncompressed prologic matrixed surround)? Are there any pauses between the disc-changes (if there are, they can be fixed). Maybe you should try viewing some other transfers too.

And another thing. Anyone in my position will probably tell you the same thing; and that is sometimes you get people emailing you "I'm pretty desperate for DVD/DVD-R copies of the untainted, widescreen Star Wars trilogy..." or "Are you sure that will be enough?". You will probably get it too. Now, speaking my own mind: anyone who exploits other's compulsive instincts is pretty rotten. Now I don't make profit from distributing discs (which other people poured their souls into), at least I don't think I do. I think TR-47 does, but hey that's his choice, I don't really care. All the more power to him.

I think that you've been shown a bit too much contempt for your introduction spidy, and I'm sorry I couldn't have replied earlier. Obviously a lot of people here do not understand the time, effort and money that does go into these things. Anyhow, I'm not feeling so well, I hope some other people will come to their senses and at least try to see things from your side and understand your resentment.
