Even your buddy Spielberg's long-lost theatrical cut of Close Encounters is coming out.

You're losing support fast, Georgie boy.

you mean on dvd. it is not the first time being released on home video the theatrical cut was released by criterion on laserdisc.

now all we need is the theatrical cut of jaws.

Are you sure about that? Obi Jeewhyen, who was a big Close Encounters fan, always said that the theatrical version had never been released to home video.

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Whether this is the first time on DVD or home release ever, it's still good news.

The LD SAID it was the theatrical cut, but wasn't; this evidently will be. What theatrical version of Jaws? I was under the impression that there was only one version of Jaws.

Darn! You beat me to it! Good news for CE fans (increasingly frustrating news for SW fans).

...and yes, this IS the FIRST time the Original 1977 Theatrical version will be released on home video (in ANY format).

Cool. Maybe Spielberg can talk some sense into Lucas while shooting Indy 4.

Maybe when Lucas wore that shirt (as reveled by that first video) prompted the two to have a conversation about that (if they didn't already which I'm sure they have), but with Spielberg doing this, maybe he will have a different point of view.

I doubt it, but I hope so.

I suspect that Lucas could have a gun to his head and still not release the theatrical versions of Star Wars on DVD in good quality.
Watch DarthEvil's Who Framed Darth Vader? video on YouTube!

You can also access the entire Horriffic Violence Theater Series from my Channel Page.

Either way it probably wouldn't be a good idea to try that.

For your sake I hope nothing like this happens anytime in the near future. Otherwise, you could find the FBI at your door wanting to discuss a certain post on a certain website.

That wouldn't scare him at all.....Lucas would just think you were offering him a snack.....He'd whip out a McDonald's ketchup packet from his shorts and proceed to eat it, bullets and all.....

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

How about BladeRunner??? The number of options is a little silly, but you can buy exactly what you want on any format.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/richpub/syltguides/fullview/R2VT2ECILZ4O3B

Now that's respecting the source material. A new cut, the theatrical cut, the DVD cut, AND the interim laserdisc/video cut. All restored properly. And even a workprint version if you want!

But then I guess BladeRunner is a much bigger franchise than the relatively obscure Star Wars series. Still, at least Star Wars has a lot more depth and sophistication ... OH WAIT
Darth Lucas: I am altering the trilogy. Pray I don't alter it further.

To say nothing of the fact that the the Blade Runner sets are selling off of the shelves before they're even out.
