Yet another over-priced set taking advantage of the "weak-minded" OT enthusiast........if they only knew they are being misled into spending more than they need too..........It makes me wanna puke. Glad I'm here, lets me know I'm not totally lost......

REALLY DOING IT RIGHT

You know, it seems to me that to really do a bootleg right, you should capture the Definitive LD uncompressed, and do a scene-by-scene retiming/rebalance on every shot using the new DVD's as a guide. Of course, you'd need a serious digital color timing system to do it on, like a DaVinci. Then, you'd want to be able to transfer the LD's audio digitally at 448kbps for the 5.1 ac3 soundtrack. Commercial, dual-layer DVD-9 authoring would be a must, so you could encode at the highest possible bitrate..

To do this, you'd need state-of-the-art post production facilities, of course... and people sympathetic to the cause.

Now if only we could find one!

...... wait a minute....

....that's right...

....I own one!

...hmmm.....

"You should capture the Definitive LD uncompressed"

All 300 GBs?

"Then, you'd want to be able to transfer the LD's audio digitally at 448kbps for the 5.1 ac3 soundtrack."

Done that already.

"To do this, you'd need state-of-the-art post production facilities, of course... and people sympathetic to the cause."

Like laserman?

"....I own one! ...hmmm....."

Yeah, but where is it?

JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

It'll actually be a lot more than that, but we have 4 Terrabytes online, so...

Yeah, but where is it?

Hollywood, California, of course...

It would be neat if the missing C3P0 tractor beam line would be included, though.

Wait, what C-3PO tractor beam line? This line is missing from the TR47 version?

Among LDs it's only on the 1989 version and not the remastered ones, so it isn't on TR47...

So then it's not on the "Definitive Collection" VHS or the '95 THX "Faces" one either? If so, then I probably wouldn't even notice it's absence.

--EDIT-- After doing some research, I understand that the line in questiion is "The tractor beam is coupled to the main reactor in seven locations..." If so, then I would miss it because it is on both of my original VHS versions (the hologram letterbox set --Definitive Collection VHS?-- and the "faces" widescreen set).
