Captain Rex (from Clone Wars and Rebels) in Return of the Jedi

That’s already Captain Rex. No need for any effects. The character in the Clone Wars was inspired by that extra, that’s already him.

Reading R + L ≠ J theories

I think he was trying to make it look more like him.

I know. However the actor looks nothing like Temeura Morrison, the actor who plays all the Clones in the prequel films. The idea was just to improve continuity by making the connection more explicit.

Maybe don’t blow up the 2nd Death Star at the end of RotJ?
vs
just say f*ck the ST?

you can try putting the k-2so model in the background through the saga.Ex: on the corridors of the death star or the star destroyer, etc.

Change Vader’s line, “Obi-wan once thought as you do.” to “Padme once thought as you do.”

The extended version Ben and Yoda’s conversation continued after the scene ended.

Ben: That boy is our last hope.

Yoda: No, there is another.

Ben: Who is another?

Yoda: The other I would’ve train.

Ben: The truth is he might be killed.

Qui-Gon: Your fears are concerned.

Yoda: Tell me, Qui-Gon. What you say, did you?

Qui-Gon: Luke has a great duel, he would face Vader, or the sister might face Vader instead. It doesn’t end that way.

Ben: As you said, master.

Yoda: Only hope, we can.

It’s a nod to NV II’s video.

  • Dub Bossk’s only appearance with a line taken from TCW or Battlefront.
  • Re-do Obi-Wan’s imitation of a Krayt dragon sound (yeah, again) to keep the first half of the original version but replace the dewback call by a Krayt roar from KOTOR or Mandalorian.
  • Make Obi-Wan call R2 “come here old friend” and cut “I don’t remember ever owning a droid”.
  • Color-correct the Dune Sea scenes to match The Mandalorian.
  • Add female voices to stormtroopers or TIE pilots.

I actually had an idea for the exchange between Darth Vader and Ben Kenobi before their duel to be more consistent with the prequels. It would start with Ben saying “Anakin…” (almost like a last ditch effort to reach him), only for Vader to immediately respond with “Anakin Skywalker was weak. I destroyed him.” (from Rebels) and then Vader makes his first strike (I’m using SC 38 reimagined for my edit so it will be Vader making the first strike, as it should be IMO).

I think it fits better as “When I left you, I was but the learner” implies he was still Obi-Wan’s student, when in Revenge of the Sith he is no longer Obi-Wan’s Padawan, rather a Jedi Knight in his own right.

Not sure if the Kenobi show will render my idea weird or not though since the two will be meeting again in that show.

Has anyone attempted to make a new Hayden ghost for Return of the Jedi that doesn’t reuse the original’s body and has a better smile?

I think it’s better to hold on until the Kenobi series debuts and we have a better picture to work with. But I think is worth trying to bridge this slight inconsistency (though one could argue than “learner” does not necessarily mean the rank of apprentice).

I don’t know if this has been attempted yet (it probably has), but after seeing jonh’s incredible work with the Force spirits, I’m sure that it will be done with great results in the future, and I will finally have a ROTJ ending that’s perfect for me.

Went back thinking about this for some reason.

I remember how we went through so many versions of Vader saying “Your mother once thought as you do”, and while we got close, none of them sounded perfect.

I know people suggested this, and while I wasn’t crazy about it at the time, I think playing with “Padmé once thought as you do” I wouldn’t be so bad if it sounded right. I mean, Luke name drops Anakin Skywalker in this scene, why couldn’t Vader mention the mother’s name? You could potentially have Luke say, “My mother” offscreen, and Vader could even say “Yes” or “That is correct” in response.

Adding color to the Emperor’s shuttle creates a strong connection with the prequels.
And of course solves the problem of reusing the same shuttle on ROTJ again and again 😃

That looks really nice!

I’m really enjoying the ideas in this thread.

In particular, I love the idea of adding in K2 units in the backgrounds of Imperial environments.

K2-SO was such a funny dude.

I wonder if there’s any shots from the trailer or the release of Rogue One that could be cut into ANH. I recall footage that was filmed in the London Underground done up as an Imperial location that might be able to be slotted into ANH, There’ll probably be K2 droids in that.

I can’t help but wonder about the logic of loudly announcing to the Rebels “Hey, this shuttle has the most important man aboard it. It would be a shame if anything were to happen to it.” but at the same time it does look really cool.
