OMOIV

In contrast to using the acronym IMO (in my opinion) or IMHO (in my humble opinion), I am advocating a more confident approach to discussion and debate.  I believe certain folks who have no doubt that their opinions are beyond anyone's ability to disagree should adopt the following acronym: OMOIV, which stands for Only My Opinion Is Valid.  End every paragraph with that acronym, and no one will bother arguing with you, and you can rest assured that you are absolutely right about everything you say.

Gosh, see how accommodating I am?  I always want to help everyone!  I want even those who lack humble opinions to be able to express their true feelings uninhibited, and with as few keystrokes as possible :)

OMOIV would help with people who thinks their taste in movies, video games, or other media is so much better than everyone else. It seems like these types run rampant on 4chan.

What should sypochants who only follow the opinions of others use, then?

WARNING:
In the following post, I may seem a little bitchy.
Viewer discretion is NOT advised.

Frankly, everything I say is my opinion. Therefor, you can shove "IMO", "IMHO", and "OMOIV" where the sun don't shine, IMUHO.

And yes, I'm serious. I really don't like it when people state their opinion, and then feel obligated to say "in my opinion", as if there will be severe legal repercussions if they don't.

And I really hate people that assume what someone is saying is meant to be taken as carved-in-stone fact unless caveated with 'IMO', etc..

Also, I don't think we needed a new thread for this, IMHO. :P

I suspect you missed the point of this thread.  It, along with half my new threads, is intended to mock those who are so sure of their opinion that they feel it necessary to state it as beyond debate.  It annoys me.  But you are welcome to YOSO (your own stupid opinion) ;)

That's true.  I hadn't considered that raunchy running gags in every single thread I touch might be far more acceptable than starting clean, short-lived gags from time to time in the Off Topic section.  Why didn't I think of that?

Do you really want me to answer such an insightful, and thought provoking question here in public?

It might blow your mind........while Erica is doing the same thing to another part of your anatomy.

I've got better options than merely taking Erica's advice.

Well, I didn't expect it to get even this many posts.  I'm content to let it die, as I was in the beginning.

I'll check my contract but I think I'm obligated to keep bumping this.

...

I said "bump."
