Hey look, I'm a gamer, and I've been playing them since the Megadrive. I am a hardcore Sega fan through and through, and yet, Nintendo have managed to win me over already with Wii. When Wii comes out, I will have owned my first Nintendo console ever, and here is why:

Nintendo are about the games. They are about changing the way games are played. What they are talking about is literally a revolution in gaming.

And what is Microsoft and Sony talking about? Upgrading their machines so that they have better graphics.

That's end of story for me - I've made my decision already, and two of the three aren't even out yet.

Amen, Baron! That's exactly what I'm feeling about this whole thing.

I've always been a Nintendo first fan. Sadly Sega ain't making such great games anymore.

Nintendo was the only company to make money off video games this generation, I think. They were the only ones who sold their systems at a profit. Xbox and Playstations are sold at a loss. That is one I don't understand, except that Nintendo knows video games better than Sony and Microsoft. I personally like the WII/Revolution, even if I think the name is really stupid. It is the only revolutionary system around, and not just better graphics. Nintendo is the only system coming out that really interests me. And no, I'm not a Nintendo fanboy. I usually hate Nintendo and their stuff, being an Atari fan, but I have to give them credit and like theredbaron said, this might be the first Nintendo system I buy, at least new.

I personally thought the PS/XBox demographic was a little older than that.

As I understand it, they are trying to target those people that WERE kids back when games like Pacman and Asteroids were created...I don't THINK that the 18-25 demographic quite fits that. Maybe 25-34. I'm 25 (26 in July) and I think I fit better into the Nintendo generation.

Eh, I think the target demographics aren't important. It's the games that matter, and all things considered, I'm sold on the Wii already. I can't say the same for the 360 and PS3. And I won't be until something massive like KOTOR 3 is announced.

I fit into the 18-25 bracket, and I'm all for Wii. And as I said, I'm a hardcore Sega fan that's been playing videogames all his life. I own a Megadrive, Saturn, Dreamcast, XBox, and I'm getting a Wii. In fact, my Megadrive and Saturn is still plugged in alongside my XBox. I was seriously thinking of getting a GameCube too - there are some great games on it.

Basically, I'm just using myself as a case study to say that this is the kind of demographic I am, and Nintendo has snagged me.
MTFBWY. Always.

Ironically, it is probably the 15-19 crowed that is most averse to the 'kiddy' Gamecube. It goes against their manly image.

(Because they surely can't be seen playing such childish games as Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil 4)

Man, I totally forgot about Eternal Darkness! I've owned a GC since 2001, yet for some reason I've never played it.

I think all the Gamecube owners are holding our breath for "Twilight Princess".

Well, ED is really cheap now. It's the perfect time to pick it up while you're waiting on Twilight Princess to come out.

Because of you I think I might.

I don't like the name Wii. Mad Magazine is going to have a field day with that name. Revolution was a perfect name and I thought it was going to stay. The DS was the code name and ended up the actual name. Some people suggested Go as a name which would have also been good because it suggests action and movement and is Japanese for five. It would have been a clever pun because this will be Nintendo's 5th home console.

Take back the trilogy. Execute Order '77

Of course they're going to reveal details about it tomorrow.

I just hope these details are things I'm fond of. Like a price point lower than 200 bucks. That would be a good start!

Based on recent prices in the video game industry, I wouldn't get your hopes up...

Nintendo has been good at keeping their prices much lower than Sony and Microsoft, so it might come out reasonably priced.

I only saw the last 10 minutes but the tennis game looked kinda cool. It's definitely not an original idea but it looked more refined and advanced than any of the other predecessors.
