New petition...for redoing the special editions — Page 2

I'm all for the OT getting a complete make over.....but only if the original theatrical versions were available on BD as we have been praying for.

A completely modern version and a cinematic release (3D?) would revitalise the OT, with special effects surpassing the PT, blending in new elements seamlessly into 70's & 80's footage......removing substandard jarring effects painted on for the recent SE's.

This would require the top team of ILM....the guys responsible for recent Transformers & Pirates of the Caribbean movies etc (recent upgrades to the movies have been poor proving that time & budget have been restricted)

I would have no problem with further alterations with the movies provided that the Classic versions were made available

I suppose I wouldn't be averse to the 97 SEs being tarted-up. I brought my ex-wife's younger brother to SW in 97 as he'd never seen it in a cinema and we both loved it.

As is the usual refrain though, bring out a HD OOT as well...

Which sadly was not the point of this thread...

This was actually a thread saying "We want George Lucas to Totally Redo all special effects and scenery in the OT with the most advanced CGI available"

Which from what I've experienced isn't a very common thread in these parts :P

I guess I get what you're saying (especially after re-reading the OP).

You want "Star Wars: Special Edition: 'Do-Over' Version"...in HD

I wouldn't be apposed to that.

LOL, lucas might as well just remake the original trilogy. Cast new actors, re write the story ( to better fit his prequels ). It's the only way to update the CG. Constant tinkering with the original sources is only making the over all movies worse, seeing as how they are repeatedly being altered and changed for no other reason but to make more money. I'd be willing to bet that no one would really care.
