For those that are disappointed with the change in direction from Goldeneye to Never Say Never Again, I am sorry.
The fact of the matter is, Never Say Never Again got a proper HD treatment, Goldeneye did not.
My computer isn’t the best with HD, but it is James Bond, not Star Wars.
I will be making a new intro sequence for this movie. I don’t want to be lazy and use the Thunderball sequence. I’m treating this as a separate film.
Thankfully with it being a Connery bond, I can go all brass and class with the soundtrack. I will be using Barry tracks, and a few outside sources. I’ve actually got the gut of my soundtrack compiled.
No I will not use the Never Say Never Again song in this film. Yeah, the Phyllis Hyman version is good, but if I’m going to go the Eon Bond route, I’m going all out.
Sure it’s the 80’s in this Bond, but aside from the technology, it still seems retro at points, so I’m going to play that up.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas
