From what I understand, the team has provided a lot of materials to Harmy for use in his projects, so to say they haven't contributed to the community is just not true.

But that doesn't mean their namesake isn't a whack job.

 Ah, I was not aware of that.  I thought he was just using a cleaned up GOUT, seeing as Dark_Jedi's cleaned up gout, to my own eyes anyway, looked far better than anything I've seen negative_1 put out. Maybe I'm just going senile.  Still though, it's stupid he's allowed to carry on this way.

I don't know the exact details but I believe the team (and I do believe it is a team, not just one lunatic) is working from actual film prints and not just the GOUT.

 I know that, but in my opinion dark_jedi's cleaned up gout still looks better than their film prints.  Not necessarily due to any fault of negative1's clean up, just because the films seem so beat up.  I mean don't get me wrong it's cool to see actual film print transfers of them, I just honestly don't think they look very good.  Maybe I should look them over again.

All I know is that Harmy's SW and ESB look fantastic and if they had some part to play in that, I'm thankful for it.

Still, negative one is a loon.

Er, I said HARMY was using a cleaned up GOUT, which I was apparently wrong about anyway, but I never said Negative-1 was using the GOUT (at least not on purpose if I did), his whole purpose is film prints so I understand.

A great many shots in Harmy's newer versions have replaced what used to be GOUT upscales with 35mm material from the -1 project, and in every case these shots look far, far superior to anything that could ever be derived from the GOUT.

Also, Harmy's eventual goal (assuming he has time) is to replace every GOUT-based shot with 35mm material as it becomes available.  This will give the ability to further despecialize the Blurays and bring back original compositing and mattes for every shot, eliminating the SE recomposites that currently remain.

For this reason alone, -1 must be allowed to continue, 'Team' or not.  And having seen some of their other work, I must admit to being increasingly interested in watching a fully film-based version that doesn't use the SE as a source at all.

All that said, there is clearly something weird going on with this whole 'Team' thing and it does irritate me somewhat.

Well, the dual account is gone, but nevertheless, if there truly were a team, there is still a rule violation.  The whole facade is just bizarre to me.

Indeed, I don't mind the team continuing, but the bull that the original is not involved is stupid, and if there is a team (I don't follow anything they do enough to get the impression that there may be more than one), they should be required to play by the rules as is everyone else.  Team Blu is comprised of individual members with individual accounts and they do a valuable service.  Why can't Team_Negative1 do the same?

But either way, shouldn't TN1 be split up into individual accounts?  Moth3r asked N1 not to share the account with any other users, and that's clearly been ignored.

JEDIT: Come to think of it (and looking at recent posts, insomuch as I can), I guess it's possible it's the same guy making the majority of the TN1 posts, if not all of them.  Maybe it's just super annoying the way he always says "we."
