Help Wanted: Need someone to clean up the Tosche Station deleted scene

I’m doing a edit of the OT that only include the scenes with Luke in them, and I intend on including the Tosche Station deleted scene. Problem is, though, that I don’t have the technology available to clean up the video, especially since it’ll be side-by-side with the Depsecialized/TeamNegative1 Editions. Does anyone have the software/time on their hands to do if for me? You would definitely be accredited for it.

Also, I would love it to be this version, since soundtrack has been added as well as being in color.

Thanks!

No offense, kid, but I don’t think you know how to boil water.

I am also working on cleanup of all deleted scenes, but even after the cleanup it won’t match the Blu-ray quality

I’d personally rather see deleted scenes as extras rather than as part of a supercut. If there’s one thing the SE proved, it’s that deleted scenes get deleted for a reason.

Making a purely extended edition doesn’t make much sense to me, since it would certainly kill the pacing. On the other hand the extra footage can be used to create an alternate cut, omitting some stuff from the official release while adding other material.

Also as far as the SE goes, the Jabba scene is an unnecessary addition to say the least, but I think the brief scene of Luke and Biggs reuniting on Yavin is a must. If only we could recover that scene in it’s entirety…

You mean this scene?

Its all there on the bluray, the same quality as TN1’s Silver Screen I’d say

By the reference to Tosche Station I think the OTHER Biggs scene was intended.

Here’s an attempt I made some years back. It’s a 1 pass clean with avisynth but I think with some more time spent stabilizing and interpolating the remaining bad frames it would look alright.

That looks pretty good! I know it will be really hard/impossible to get it BluRay quality, but what you showed looks good already! I only really needed to get the dirt and stuff out of the way in the first place. If you don’t plan on doing it much farther, could you send the result to me?

I’ll start a new thread in a few days / weeks / as soon as I will be able to show at least one finished scene

This one is useless. It is a different take to the one used in the SE and it cuts in too late and cuts out too soon to replace the SE take. We do get the missing line from the red leader, but without some serious FX, it still cannot be inserted into the film.

You sure? 😉

No, Molly is right, because the title of the thread is all that matters and that’s why threads like “Help!” and “Check this out!” are so important.

All the deleted scenes are on my radar to clean up and color correct. I was going to use the GOUT DVD as the source to match, but now I may use the T-1 SS version (with missing frames replaced from BR and synced to the GOUT). And frankly, this type of thing is a pacing be damned sort of version. The entire purpose is to see the scenes in context. I have a rough cut done and it turns out pretty good. I’m also going to turn to Deleted Magic to cut some other scenes to make this more like an early cut of the film (one that didn’t exist because this will have finished effects and music). But first up is my BR/SE/GOUT restoration project so it may be a while before I get to it.
