Is the file you downloaded a ISO file or is it just the folders?

You will need a free program called imgburn.

ISO: Open imgburn, select "write image file to disc", select the ISO file and burn to a DL DVD+R

Folders: Open imgburn, select "write files/ folders to disc",  import the folders (BDMV etc), change the UDF to 2.50 in the "options" tab, then burn to disc.

Not an ISO or vob folders, there are folders but the the main file in one of the folders is a file type M2TS of 7.95 GB, i can view it through NERO and go through the steps of burning it but once the burn is done there is only sound and it only takes up a small portion of the DVD, I snatched it from myspleen.

Ok first folder is BDMV then open that folder to reveal 4 folders and two files, the 4 are called BACKUP, CLIPINF, PLAYLIST, STREAM (which contains the 7gb) and the two files called "index.bdmv" and 2nd file "MovieObject.bdmv

there should be other folders with the BDMV folder (ignore anything within these folders as these are the root structure of the AVCHD).

Nope, only BDMV then open that folder to reveal 4 folders and two files, the 4 are called BACKUP, CLIPINF, PLAYLIST, STREAM (which contains the 7gb) and the two files called "index.bdmv" and 2nd file "MovieObject.bdmv, the STREAM folder has the movie in it cause I can watch the mt2s file in that folder on my laptop through windows media player.

You should have other folders with the BDMV folder because they are part of the AVCHD structure. Certain players require these folders to be intact in order to play the disc when burned. The only thing you can do is burn the BDMV folder as i instructed earlier and hope that your Blu-ray player will accept it.  You can't burn this to a single layer DVD so you will need to burn it to a DL DVD+R.

The only other thing you could possibly try if your player won't play it after burned is to load the M2TS file into TSMUXER and build a new AVCHD structure
