NSP/OT - NightStalkerPoet's Original Trilogy Project - V2.C Rendering — Page 2

Decided I wasn’t happy with my HDDVD compatible encodes, and worked on my script some. I’m happy to say ChatGPT led me to an anti aliasing method that I’m happy with and has eliminated the vast majority of issues, especially on R2.

With more tweaking of my script, I’m muchhappier with the upscale.

So I’m bumping the project to Version 3, and rendering out the trilogy - now in BluRay compatible x264.

Rendering is cruising along at 1.23fps, so it’ll be a few days.

Here’s a preview in the mean time

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Star Wars V3 1080p BD-25 Compatible MKV now available on MySpleen and through PM.

Small warning - the anti-aliasing did soften the image some.

I’ll probably release a 720p without AA but with the tighter cropping for people using more advanced hardware with better scaling than my 2011 TV and Blu-ray player 😅

That will be released as Version
2-B.

Version 2.B trilogy complete and released.

Essentially V2 with tighter cropping, converted to BT.709, and each is BD-25 compatible even remuxed with TSMuxer.

Waiting to hear a little more feedback on V3 Star Wars before I render ESB and RotJ - not sure the anti-aliasing/additional upscale is worth the softness now that I’ve compared to V2.B

I’m afraid that after testing on a few different screens, converting to Rec.709 before encoding V2.B resulted in skin tones looking sunburnt. My V2 benefitted from the Rec.601 color being interpreted as Rec.709. So I’m just gonna stick with it - I could get skin tones a bit nicer, but it results in R2’s light turning orange.

So V2.C will be ready soon - just finished adjusting the script and hit encode at 11am 12/28.

Sorry for any that grabbed V2.B that were unhappy with the colors.
