So here's a question for anyone who knows the answer, because I don't feel like looking it up. Now, if the game goes to a shootout, any goals don't count towards a player's goal totals, nor do they count as goals against for the goalie. But, if the score is 0-0 going into a shoot-out, then the records show that no goals were scored against either goalie. So the losing goalie allows no goals, but doesn't get a shut out. WTF?

Stupid shootout. Stupid extra point.

hahaha no prob bud. it does however raise the point, you got a shutout but you got the lose, hmmm. you lost a prefect game??? right but i dont really mind, i love the shootout its great, as long as they dont put it in the playoffs i am very happy with the system, they should make wins worth 3 points and a OT win worth 2.

I don't mind the shootout, but I hate the extra point. A win should be a win, a loss a loss. 2 points or 0 points.

yeah but then you'd have teams like dallas that would just sit tight and trap and win in the shootout cause they have 3 really good players. the bonus point for the shoot out win is ok.

I don't know. I think it's be a heck of a lot more difficult to trap in the new NHL. With more obstruction calls and the removal of the red-line for offsides, the neutral zone trap seems ineffective. The trap has to move up to keep the puck in the offensive zone. I just think there'd be more at stake for both teams if there was always just the two points on the line.

well not trap, and i am not saying that dallas traps either but they will play a very conservative game. they wont open things up at all.

Yeah. I've never liked Hitchcock.

On a different note, my Sens were absolutely spanked by the Rangers last night. The Rangers! Lundqvist is amazing!

yeah i know they dont do it but they could, they are the only team in the NHLL undefeated in the Shoot out.

And so you should be. They're a really great team. I'd love to see a Dallas-Ottawa final.

Thinking of that, I don't like the new schedule. So many division games, not enough cross-conference games

dallas wont come out of the west, mark my words . it will be a team from the Northwest, either the canucks, flames, or the oilers(if they get goal tending), or it will be nashville.

Oh well. The way things are going, it won't be Ottawa in the East, either. We're 2-4-1 in the last 7 games.

On a different note, does anyone really think Jose Theodore needs hair growth drugs?

I mean, look at his hair! He doesn't need more!

What are your opinions on Wayne Betzky...I mean, Gretzky?

Man, if he gets caught...I think he'll be in some serious trouble. NHL could get in a bit of a mess as well.

I believe him, though, that he didn't place any bets. I think he'll be exonerated of any charges. Rick Tocchet, on the other hand...
