I see the NHL thread has gone missing again. so ill start another one.

what do you guys think of the races. man oh man dayv dallas is jsut ripping it up turco is awesome this year, and the devils are coming back. they were the only team in the east that could beat my vancouver canucks, now that is saying something considering that the only top team in the NHL that vancouver didnt play was the cans. in carolina.

I'll likely incur some wrath but...maybe it died off for a good reason.

It totally is blasphemy. I'm surprised. The teams I thought would do well are doing really well, and the teams I thought would be average are doing above average. Of course, someone has to lose. The teams I thought would struggle are doing worse that I imagined. My Sens were a safe bet, though.

Any opinions on the game itself this season? Better or worse?

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

you gotta be jokin me dayv

dallas may reach the conference finals, but detroit wont, i will bet you right now that one if not both of the teams that play in the finals will be from the NW div. so thats one of colorado, flames, canucks or edmonton, and maybe mini, but i dont think they will make the playoffs cause our div is too good and it forces them down. if the were in any other div, they would be in though.

today is a very sad day the 2005/2006 season for the canucks is pretty much over. injuries have done this team in, for another year. our top goalie is out for the season, same goes with our top defenceman. seeing that those two are out, and our best forward has been playing hurt for the past 2 months with a possible sports hurnia, i can see him getting surgry as well. there is only so much a team can take and i think we have hit that mark. thats a combined salary of 12 million gone, and 3 of the best players on the team. there was a chance with clouts gone, and there is a minor chance with jovo gone, but if naslund decided that there has been so many injuries already, i am not going to play through this anymore, and elects to get surgry done. well the team is done for the season, unless nonis makes some drastic trades, and absolutely robs like 3 or 4 teams of top players.

we'll still make the playoffs but i really dont expect a run after the first round. unfortunately. so all i can say is,
go ottawa go,
go edmonton go,
and go nashville go.

Woo-hoo. My Devs are holding their own after a rough start.

Although the Rangers scare me. They look really good. As do the Flyers. Its a tough division. Probably one of the tougher ones.

One other thing, what's the point of the trapezoid? I mean, I know what it does...but why?

Because in the old NHL, the goalie could come right out to the corner to play the puck and not be hit by the oncoming team. So rather than make the goalies fair game, they just limited where the goalies could play the puck.

On another note, my Sens just got shut out by Boston. BOSTON! That hurt. We're now four points back of Carolina.

NEW JERSEY ONLY HAS 58 POINTS. I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT CAROLINA WAS LEADING THE ENTIRE NHL WITH 76 POINTS. DETROIT HAS 73, AND AND THE STARS AND SENATORS BOTH HAVE 72 POINTS EACH. PHILADELPHIA HAS 70 POINTS. THERE ARE YOUR TOP TEAMS POINT WISE BUT NOT BY RANK. IT'S STILL EARLY, BUT THE RACE FOR THE PRESIDENT'S CUP IS GOING TO BE TIGHT.

But a good battle it will be. The way the season started, I thought my Sens had it in the bag, but Carolina is surprising me this year, and they just snagged Doug Weight!

and when they beat Montreal like they did tonight, well!

Actually, I guess anyone can beat Montreal like that (except Toronto, of course)
