I love EarthBound, it's one of the great games from my childhood.

I'm a bit ashamed to admit this but I could never really beat the following titles:
Bionic Commando - the first few levels i'm able to do yet as soon as I started on the next something else always came up.
Strider
Batman
RoboCop

There must be several more I'm sure.

I belive they cancelled it so it wouldn't take attention off N64. It was 95% completed, only a few bugs were still left, but the game was there. I've played a debuged version which was "completed" by fans. The game is quite weird, and far from what you would expect from a regular SNES game, sometimes it felt there was something missing... It was quite challenging and fun though, but a bit repetitive. It felt weird playing it, it was like playing a game on an alternate reality in which it was released...
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Well, I know that a lot of the concepts it introduced (or was going to introduce) were brought back for StarFox64, like All-Range Mode and Star Wolf, and those were some pretty good innovations. I would have been interested to know how that would have worked on Super NES.
StarFox 64...there's a good game.
I must have beat that 20 times, only 1 or 2, though, were using the ultra-hard path (where we see StarFox Sr.)

I think my high score was over 1000 kills.

The hard path's my favorite. Good game. Good game.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

We need a good sequel or remake of that game.

I've only seen a little bit of it, but the new Star Fox Armada (?) looks pretty good. I want to get that. The story seems really good, although it's really just Star Fox 64 over again. But is that really a bad thing?

Just bought a NES system with no controller today 3.19.

Wow, good deal...

But do you already have a controller, or are you just going to watch repeatedly in retro-based awe as a Goomba repeatedly kills your helpless Mario (or Luigi)?

I could buy one on ebay or at my local flea market.

Well, I'd recommend the basics, like your Marios, and your Zeldas, and your Mega Mans. Duck Hunt is always addictive if you can get it. I've been having a lot of fun with Punch-Out lately. Kung-Fu is pretty good as well. Brings back memories, that one does. Final Fantasy... I spent $50 on eBay for it this past January (I made sure it came with everything it was originally packaged with, that's why it cost so much), and that game is really fun. Paperboy. Mmm. Fun but frustrating.

Well, I hope that helps you out.

I got a advantage, a Zapper, and crappy 3rd party controller. I also bought 2 regular controllers on ebay here
and Hogan's Alley, Castlevania, and Mario/Duck Hunt.

The Advantage is actually pretty fun to use once you get used to it. Because all my friends wouldn't be able to get the hang of it!

It just looks like an awesome SCI-FI type of hardware!

With all the talk of Star Fox 2 earlier on, I have to ask: where can I find a ROM for it? I've been looking everywhere for one, but no luck so far.

By the way, there is an amusing Sonic the Hedgehog ROM for the SNES that I found. I won't give away the surprise, but suffice to say it gave me a good chuckle. PM me if you're interested.

Any ideas for games for the NES I should get that are not so obvious.

Ouch, thanks...

Well, I can tell you not to ever, ever buy The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle. Or don't even play it. A bigger travesty of a game you'll never ever ever ever EVER find.

Honestly, if there's a game that's not been heard of easily, there's a reason why....

But Dr. Mario, Rygar, Hogan's Alley, and Gunsmoke are all good games.
