In my mind...

Episode I=45 Years BBY

-Obi-Wan discovers Anakin, who begins his training as a Jedi

     -Clone Wars begin.

Episode II=40 Years BBY

     -Clone Wars end.

     -Republic becomes Empire.

     -Palpatine becomes Emperor.

-Jedi Knights are exiled and relieved of their duties to the Republic, however         they are not yet Purged.

Episode III=20 Years BBY

-Shows Anakin in exile with wife. She is pregnant but wishes the tell husband of the good news for a latter time.

-Shows Obi-Wan with Yoda on Dagobah. Yoda feels a great disturbance in the Force foreseeing great terror and darkness in the future.

-Most other Jedi Knights with family ala Anakin.

-Empire has been gradually degraded and more totalitarian in the past 20 years as Obi-Wan discovers after leaving Dagobah. Emperor is found to be a Dark Sider.

-Obi-Wan recruits surviving Jedi to prepare an "Alliance to Restore the Republic" with Mon Mothma, Garm Bel Iblis, Bail Organa, and other political leaders. Finally, he finds Anakin, the most powerful lightsaber duelist, who takes it upon himself to confront The Emperor, personally, rather than be patient and go along with Obi-Wan and the burgeoning Alliance (ala Luke going off to face Vader in ESB).

-Anakin is lured to the pull of the Dark Side of the Force as The Emperor teases him with the power of the Dark Side, convinces him that The Empire is the only way to pave Galactic peace and security, and shows that the Jedi are Rebels fermenting a further war.

-The Emperor orders the newly declared Lord Darth Vader to go out with a legion of the most elite Stormtroopers and exterminate the Jedi Rebels.

-Obi-Wan feels a great disturbance in The Force and heads off to Dagobah for safety and for further illumination in his feeling from Yoda, the latter of whom reveals that Anakin has fallen to the Dark and the both of them feel only two Dark Forces lingering left in the Galaxy, where there was once a thousand light speckles (i.e. The Jedi have been wiped out and they feel it).

-Yoda faces the Emperor, and Obi-Wan hunts down his old pupil and friend.

-Yoda and The Emperor duel only using the Force (no sabers for them) and result in a draw with Yoda going back to Dagobah, where he's resided for over 100 years.

-Obi-Wan finds Vader on Mustafar (or whatever one wants to call it) and duels him until he has fallen into a Molten pit. He sees him crawl out, but cannot kill his old friend.

-Before Yoda goes to Dagobah, he meets up with Kenobi and the Founders of the Rebellion telling them that he senses two new "lights" in the Galaxy that could be possible Jedi survivors. Hoping that they are far-flung powerful Jedi, they instead find (relatively) nearby Illuminations in the Force on the same planet where Anakin had been with his wife for 20 years. There they find that Anakin's wife has given birth to twins, both with great force potential. Yoda tells Obi-Wan to take the boy in exile with to live with his brother Owen on Tatooine, which is far-away enough to attract further Imperial attention. Bail Organa offers to take the Mother and Daughter to live with him and his wife as a disguised hand-maiden (Mom) and an adopted daughter of the infertile Royal Couple (Leia)

-Yoda goes back to Dagobah for the rest of his life.

-Obi-Wan in Tatooine with Luke, Royal Family on Alderaan with Leia.

-Darth Vader placed in his iconic life-preserving suit of armor and respiratory helmet and The Empire now has NO restraints holding it back from unleashing further terror except for the Imperial Senate...

...two kids, two Old Wizards, and a burgeoning Rebel Alliance!

-Someone, someday, needs to bring back the LIGHT SIDE to Star Wars.  Has anyone else noticed striking similarites between the character of Anakin/Vader and George Lucas, or is it just me?

-It's called STAR WARS. NOT "Episode IV: A New Hope". Kids, get this straight.

(Note: The ROTJ novelization shows that The Emperor knows of Yoda so I brought him to face off the Emperor in a great battle of the Masters of the Light and Dark Side of the Force to show this).

So 20 years pass between your Ep2 and your Ep3?

Looks like all of the good stuff is in your last movie... sort of like another prequel trilogy I've heard of... ;)

Seriously, why not set all of your trilogy in that last time frame?

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Haha. Good point!

I didn't elaborate much on the first two "movies" because it wasn't too relevant to this thread. My Prequel Trilogy that I imagine has the original Jorus C'Baoth in a pretty major role for Episodes I and II, as The Thrawn Trilogy is so loved and has essentially served as the spiritual sequel trilogy we all wanted. So Jorus C'Baoth is kind of like Saruman from LOTR in that he was the main Jedi Knight (not counting the Master, Yoda) before his turn to a Dark Jedi and servitude to Palpatine, which is when Obi-Wan takes over that role. Episode I deals with Jorus a lot and how he basically helps start the Spaarti Cloning that crafts the Clone Army. Of course, it also deals with the discovery of Anakin by Obi-Wan (Anakin is about 18 and Obi-Wan is 35). My Episode II will deal with the Mandalorians having entered the Clone Wars, Boba Fett, the end of the Clone Wars, the death of Jorus at the hands of Obi-Wan, and Anakin!s evolution to one of the greatest Jedi of all time, and of course, Palpatine's rise to President of the Republic and the beginning of the EMPIRE.

Episode III, of course, is the most interesting. Everyone has wanted to see the Fall of the Jedi, The Rise of the Empire, and the "death" of Anakin and "birth" of Vader ever since Star Wars premiered on May 25 1977!

Fair enough.

Consider this: Your episode 1 can still have a rich backstory without it having come from previous episodes.

As is, I'd have to say that your trilogy isn't coming across as a single narrative. Think of your trilogy as three super acts in a single story. In the original trilogy, the super acts are about Luke, Vader, and the Rebellion overthrowing the Empire. New characters come and old characters go, but the central narrative is the same.

Maybe I'm still not getting you... but your trilogy seems to be "a series of events that all take place prior to ANH" more than a specific narrative.

I understand what you're saying, but then again the central narrative, throughout each film, would center on Obi-Wan and his development into the primary Jedi Knight of the Order and his growing maturity and friendship/training and difficulty with Anakin, along with Anakin's Jedi training and prowess as a warrior and eventual Fall. Of course, they also will all have Bail Organa in a primary role, and will have C-3P0 (protocol droid for Bail's family), R2-D2 (a droid with Obi-Wan and Kenobi) and Yoda and Palpatine appearing with less screen time.

Each film will be of a different time period, but will flow right into the next because of a more cohesive narrative and fuller wealth of characterization than what Lucas offered (although that isn't much of a compliment! lol).

Do you have a prequel reboot you've made or are working on? I only have do much written down with my version!

What are the chances that Zahn meant that Pellaeon had served the “empire” for 28 years and “the organization that wasn’t the empire but all of the republic soldiers and sailors were told that it was the same Navy pre-empire and post-empire and so they were still enlisted and since it was the same Navy then as it is now and since it’s now the Imperial Navy it must have been the Imperial Navy then as well even though no one ever called it that ever because what they used to call it was the Republic Navy because that’s what it was and in fact it really was really different now that it’s the Imperial Navy but no one says that because saying something like that in the Imperial Navy could get you killed even though you could have said something like that in the Republic Navy without worrying about it which is proof of the difference the difference that shall not be mentioned” for 22 years- therefore 50 years?

I just wanted to say that I love this.

But I do not think there are answers to these sorts of questions.
