I'd have to check, but I think that is broadcast here in the US as MXC (Most Extreme Elimination Challenge) on SpikeTV.

Spike gets the show, then gives outrageous translations to the Japanese and replaces the ending with "Kenny Blankenship's Most Painful Eliminations of the Day".

Here in America, it is called 'Most Extreme Elimination Challenge', and has horribly un-funny dubbing.

EDIT: Sorry starkiller, I didn't see your comment...

I remember those days well. Seemed like every vehicle my parents owned in the 70s had an 8-track player, but the last one had killer speakers.

My parents had an 8 Track component on their home stereo system. We had a little adapter tray that could fit audio cassettes. However it never worked right and wound up eating so damn many cassettes that we pitched it.

And it always played the cassettes too fast, right? I think my parents had the same one.

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

As I recall, yes. I think maybe it spun the source spool as well as the feeder spool in the tray. Most cassette decks only mechanically rotate the feeder spool while the source spool just spins freely in time with the feeder spool. However, since the 8 Track adaptor worked this way, it wound up feeding tape faster than the feeder could spool it up. Voila! Instant magnetic tape bottleneck.

Yep; that's why I'd never play prerecorded tapes in an adapter. It was always dubs.

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

When we had that machine, I was so young and I had so few tapes and was not really into music enough to own dubs let alone know what they were or how to make them.

I was already into dubbing by then. My brother had a friend with a killer system, and we dubbed copies of all his Queen albums, including the Flash Gordon soundtrack (yes, I know this dates me).

My dad has been skipping audio generations.

He's transferring his massive record collection to CDs. We've got everything from Marx Bros records to The Chipmunks Sing the Beatles Hits.

Here, I'll date myself just to make you feel better. For one of my birthday parties, my parents took me and all my friends to the theater to see Flash Gordon. I still love that movie.
