Moore wasn't bad. Obviously a funnier/goofier Bond. I thought he did a good job of it despite that. Fun movies to watch if not exactly like Bond.
Dalton was quite a bit more gritty. He was more like the books, in my mind. I liked that.
Brosnan was a nice between-Bond. Little like Moore in the humour, little like Dalton in the grit.
Craig I like a lot for the same reason I liked Dalton. He certainly has the realism and grit. I do miss Q and the gadgets, though, even though they're not so true to the books. I know he has some more believable gadgets like smartphones and whatnot, but it's not the same as a watch laser or briefcase plane or submarine Lotus.
Connery will always be the best, though. =P
Indeed Connery will always be the best. But Dalton comes at a close second.
Craig is third.
Lazenby is fourth
Moore is fifth
and Brosnan is sixth. I didn't really like his performance much, but that's probably just me.

@DoubleKO - While I disagree with some of your placements, I understand them; certainly my Connery > Craig bias is merely because Connery was the first and had more crazy gadgets.
Still, I could have sworn I remembered something about Lazenby being fired or some sort of bad blood there, but after some research I guess I was mistaken. I think I need to rewatch OHMSS and give it another chance...

@Karate Kid - What the...?
Reminds me of this:
OHMSS definitely lacks some of the things Bond is famous for, but it is one of the better stories really. Lazenby is no Connery but I don't mind his portrayal. It is very close between him and Moore for me - it's hard to tell with only one movie. I'm sure I am in the minority with Craig at number one; no need to justify Connery as a choice.
Craig's efforts are light on the gadgets but keep enough of the sensational action sequences to still feel like Bond movies to me. I think he is truest to Connery's original portrayal but seems even tougher and more capable. I don't necessarily like the complete lack of gadgets, but I'd rather that than invisible BMWs.

1. Craig - Sorry, I think he sucks and I hate the new Bond.
2. Connery - The original and the best!
3. Brosnan - I really liked Brosnan, plus my wife REALLY liked Brosnan, so my trip home was way better after watching a Brosnan Bond movie.
4. Lazenby - huh?
5. Moore - I enjoyed Moore, mostly because he was Bond while I was growing up and I liked the comedic shtick he did.

Yeah, sry, I was half asleep, I forgot to re-order after I cut and paste. Here ya' go! Sorry. The bottom three are pretty much tied.
