Hi,

I'm new to these forums. I was perusing the usenet last night and looking through a little newsgroup called alt.binaries.starwars. Now usually there isn't much there; the occasional fan-edit but mostly not much that would hold my interest... Then I saw something that sent me into the vast expanses of childhood memory. "The Story of the Empire Strikes Back: The Adventures of Luke Skywalker" "Why, that's the name of my long lost, beloved record album from childhood!" I said to myself. What I found when I read the NFO was not an MP3 of the record album like I expected. Some wonderful, brilliant, crazy fan had actually made a movie to go with the audio of this! Looking around I also found that this same wonderful, brilliant, crazy fan had done my MORE beloved "Story of Star Wars". I want to thank you for this. I am 38 now and have known these record albums by heart for the last 30 years. What you have done here has brought back sweet nostalgia and child-like glee that I really need today. This work is excellent and I have been enjoying them immensely. I even printed out the covers and put them in cases! WEEEEEEEEEEE!

Thanks

MoveAlong, you've done such a fantastic job - you've really created something wonderful! These projects must have been so tedious- I can't even imagine the amount of time and work that went into them. These are the first fan-edits I've ever had, and I'm going to share them with my Nephew, who also grew up listening to the records. I'm so impressed with the quality- I've seen some commercially-produced DVDs that didn't look as nice.

There are so many little bits that I appreciated, for instance-
I listened to the ESB LP so many times - I got used to the part where Leia says "we have to go back...WE HAVE TO GO BACK!" instead of the line "we have to go back...I know where Luke is" that is on the home-video versions.

It was also nice to hear Luke's alternate reading of the line "hang on back there" from the mono version of the sdtk.

I loved the way you integrated the GOUT footage where needed (I didn't see a difference in PQ, either).

Anyhow, great work. Can't wait for ROTJ.

I received mine in the mail yesterday. What a lovely piece of work. A fitting companion piece to THE STORY OF STAR WARS.
Kudos, MoveAlong.

If anyone who has this is interested in helping seed it on Demonoid, I have about 10 invite codes burning a hole in my pocket. PM me.

I'm still away from home but was able to find a few minutes to check in here. I'm glad most of you are starting to get your copies. Thanks once again for all the kind words. I really appreciate it! It makes me happy to see other people enjoying them so much.

carbonunit: That picture freaking rules!! Welcome aboard. I couldn't dream of a better response. Seriously, you made my day...

I'm sure digitalfreaknyc will get this going on myspleen as soon as he can. He's a busy man. I'd rather have myspleen as the one torrent source at this point. I do have some myspleen invites that I'll be willing to doll out when necessary.

There are even more different takes and lines than people have mentioned. When I was syncing the album audio to the 2004 footage, I had both audio tracks and could isolate them and play them together. I found it fascinating how many subtle (and not so subtle) differences there were. I even thought of having a subtitle track devoted to flagging the differences, but was so burned out I couldn't bring myself to do it. Maybe for Jedi?...

Thank you Movealong. Received mine yesterday. These are a lot of fun to watch. Thank you again for being so generous.

One quick question. Your disc and cover look so professional. What printer do you use to print the DVD and cover?

Just got back home. Good to see myspleen's going. Thanks digitalfreaknyc and seeders!

vbangle, I'm using an Epson R380 with this kind of paper. Rikter clued me in about that paper a while back. It's great stuff and pretty reasonable at around 15 cents a page. The R380 obviously does a great job with discs and premium paper. It's going for $104.99 at buy.com.

Even though the limited edition copies are gone (SKot, yours is still waiting for your address), I can still send out copies to those of you who may be bandwidth challenged. PM me. Thanks again to everyone...

P.S. For those who received seeder copies, now is the time to help out!

You can go about your business. Move along, move along.

Finally received my copy this morning, wasn't sure if I was going to get a copy due to airmail costs, anyhow I really can't thank you enough MoveAlong, this must have cost you a small fortune to send 50 copies out to folk.

I'm going to watch it now, ESB in my opinion is far the best film out of the saga, so this is going to be a joy to watch

Thank you again

Kind regards

Tony

By the way nice disks, adds a really nice finish to them, what brand are they again?

Galatians 2: 20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

MoveAlong, thanks for sending me this DVD. It was a real honor to beta test this for you. It was really cool to see the completed release with your finishing touches on it, and for the DVD to arrive with the fantastic cover and disc art printed out. As always, you give 110% with your releases, and this is one of the best fan DVD's out there. I listened to this record so much as a kid, I could almost repeat all the narration while watching the DVD! Thanks again, and I'm looking forward to working with you again soon!
