Can a few people help seed this on MySpleen? Only seems appropriate considering the passing of Mr Browne...
Author

Once again, I am respectfully requesting some seeds for this on My Spleen! There is ONE seed and at this rate I'll have it in 5,000 hours :-(

It looks like MoveAlong is helping seed this again. I stopped mine yesterday because it looked like the leech that was grabbing it had completed and then stopped his seeding. I see he (or she) hasn't completed it yet though (yes, they're a leech. they've been a member since last august and have less than a 1 ratio).

I'll see if I can jump back on tonight and seed some more in order to help out.

I can't seed all the time. But, I do check in frome time to time and help out as much as I can. If/when the seeders bail, just stay on and I'll try to eventually get there. If your DL connection is slow/torrent challenged, you can always PM me...

Thanks for the seeding help, I finally managed to get it (and I kept seeding for another 2 days before I had to reboot!)

MoveAlong, it's great. A fun, unique Star Wars project (just when we thought there were no more angles) and yes, your picture is stunning.

The color correction is the best I've seen yet (did you have to change your settings for EVERY scene??) and, for something that had to be resized and re-encoded, the picture look as good (if not better) than most first generation DVDs I've seen! Truly reference quality.

I'd love to know what you used to re-encode the MPG and what your settings were!

I know it sounds blasphemous, but after seeing the great job you did with the "pan and scan" into true 16:9, I'd love to see you go ahead and complete correcting the rest of the movie and release a 16:9 version.

Between your CC and the video filling my screen (I have a 16:9 projector), it has to be one of the best SW viewing experiences I've ever had!

Thanks Mojo. For the CC, I ended up having 4 or 5 different settings that I used for the whole thing as needed. I used MPEG Streamclip to crop and resize to 16:9. Editing was in Final Cut Pro with the Photo JPEG codec at maximum quality. It's not lossless, but it's the best codec that my OLD Mac can play/edit in real time. Exported from FCP to Compressor for MPEG2 encoding using best settings and then authored in DVD Studio Pro.

I don't think I'll be doing a whole 16:9 SW. Not being 2.35:1 is the biggest regret I have about TSOSW. I only did the 16:9 crop because, at the time, I didn't know how to work in the pans/zooms and stay 2.35:1. I now know how to do it and Empire is 2.35:1 and looks great. If I can ever get time to finish the authoring, you all will see, LOL! Thanks again for the compliments, Mojo. They're nice to hear....

I am with you 100% in being an aspect ratio snob... but again I have to say, the image quality of your encode and seeing it larger than ever on a true 16:9 display was a unique experience. Far from a true pan and scan 4:3 version, the 16:9 box worked very well and it never felt "cropped."

We all know and love the trilogy in 2.35:1, I think it would be great to have 16:9 versions just for fun... it would certainly be a unique set and, as you said, you did slide around the frame where neccessary to make sure you were framing what was most important.

I know it's blasphemous to some extent, but it IS nice to see that amazing image you produced fill a true 16:9 display!

And it's never been done before... please consider it!

Ohhhh, I dunno about that anymore. I don't have an account and the longest I have to wait between files is around 80 seconds. (80 sec. for 200MB chunks, 50 sec. for 100MB chunks)

I don't know why it's like that, but I'm pretty happy about it. I guess they changed policies or something. During the day, the speed is kinda slow (50-70kbps; 100MB takes around 20-30 min.), but at night, it's much faster. (220-250kbps; 100MB takes around 7-8 min.) If you have time to 'babysit' the downloads, you can get a ton in a short amount of time. I just got a dual layer DVD in two days this way!

It may be different for different people, of course, but if this is happening for others as well, great! :)

what i meant is there is a time limit if you have a regular account,

and they give you a quota to download.. so you have to wait x minutes

between downloads if you don't have a premium account..

but yes, they might have changed policies.

Both my 'Story' projects are on myspleen for those who like torrents. Not quite sure of the seeding now, as they are pretty old releases. I need to do another round of usenet posting. I can always be reached by PM. I've never turned down a request for sending any of my projects out...

My three year old daughter has just started to show an interest in Star Wars.  Mostly because of the Princess, but hey, I'm not complaining. I have never really introduced her to the trilogy but she's always been aware of some characters like Darth, thanks to Darth Tater.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks again to Movealong as your 'story of' dvds have proved to be just the length and format that she can take in.  She now knows all the characters and likes to match my old Kenner figures to scenes on the screen.

Unfortunately the ESB disc has taken a bit of a battering and I will need to download it again.
