I've finished downloading the torrents from myspleen, and I'm not having any success with the supplied IMG Burn and DVD Decripter apps. Is there a link to a thread explaining how to use these to unleash all the MoveAlong goodness? Or if smeone wants to PM me with step by step instructions, that would be alright too. Sorry for my newb ignorance.

I don't use Windows so I can't tell you from experience, but here's the expanded burning guide from imgburn.com

1. Load ImgBurn
2. Insert blank CD/DVD (depending on image size!)
3. Select a file to write by clicking on the 'Browse for file' button.
4. Click the big 'Write' button.
5. Wait a while zzzzz.....

Finished!

I'm sure DVD Decrypter is not all that different. Either should work just fine. Enjoy...

4 DVD-Rs and still nothing. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The files that are in the torrents folder are:

The Story of Star Wars by MoveAlong (IMG File)
The Story of Star Wars by MoveAlong (SFV File)
The Story of Star Wars by MoveAlong (MSInfo Document)
A file folder named "Windows Burn" that contains SetupDVDDecrypter_3.5.4.0.exe and SetupImgBurn_1.3.0.0.exe

What I did was run both .exe files, so I have both apps installed on the computer. I then opened the IMG File using IMGBurn. This went through the burn process successfully. But when I attempt to play the DVD, the computer won't play it. It doesn't show up in "My Computer" even though the DVD is loaded in the drive. Have I missed something? I'm pretty frustrated.

Does anyone have a copy that they wouldn't mind PIFing me?

Assuming you have DVD Decypter installed, all you need to do is right click the .img file and choose "Burn using DVD Decrypter."

I'm attempting this now. If this doesn't work I'm robably going to give up. Again, I ask for a PIF. Anyone?

Well fifth time is the charm, apparently. It finally took, however playback is sketchy. It freezes all over the place and in the PC it will skip chapters. Is there any reason to believe that trying this again will correct the problem?

Sounds like possibly cheap media and/or a burner issue? Have you burned any other discs with this type of media and burner that play fine? I've not heard of anyone having problems... and there are a lot of copies of this out now. I'm out of blank discs. Can anyone I sent a disc to help PIF to Jaxon's Dad? Thanks.

You could try opening the image file in DVDShrink and rebuild the .iso. I've found that this has fixed problems for me in the past. It also could be a media problem, but usually even cheap media will play ok in a PC. Try burning at a slower speed & see if that helps

Succes!! I took Adywan's suggestion and burned the img file at 1x. That did the trick. Thanx Adywan. (BTW, please make your Episode IV de-Specialized edition available in NTSC.)

I had the read-along versions on cassettes for the trilogy. I will always remember the line "you will know that it time to turn the page when you hear R2D2 beep, like this..." The cassettes might still be at my parents house, but I doubt I still have the books. Wish I did, might be a good project...

I still have the cassette and book for Episode 4. One major difference between this and "The Story of Star Wars" 12-inch was that the read-along cassette used different actors with altered dialog. I still remember the non-Mark Hamill Luke asking in a puzzled Peter-Brady-meets-puberty voice "My father was a jedi?!" Hilarious.

Anyhow, if anyone needs 'em for a project, PM me.

Hi Movealong,

I saw your project and the great things people were saying about it and tried doing the torrents and I am having problems trying to get it. What can you suggest I do to get a copy of your project, "The Story Of Star Wars"? Or if anyone out there can help me, I would be greatful.

Thanks and May The Force be with you....

Are you having trouble with this particular torrent, or torrents in general? There are currently 6 seeders and no leechers on myspleen. You should be able to get it pretty quick. When I see that there are leechers, I jump on and seed as much as I can. If you have Usenet access, it's available on alt.binaries.starwars. Alas, I am still without blank discs so I can't help there. Maybe someone can offer to PIF to you. I've sent out quite a few of these...

Hi there - just finished downloading and burning this. What a trip down memory lane!! Thank you! I still have the storybook on my shelf

I was most impressed by the colour correction on the 2004 DVDs - absolutely brilliant job. The picture is phenomenal.

Thanks again

I just finished burning the DVD, printing the labels (case and disc), and I have to tell you, it's one of the best fan-made projects I've ever seen. Very professional. I can't wait for your next project to be finished.

Great work!

Anyone able to seed, please?? Either on MySpleen or to possibly post on Demonoid?? This sounds like one of the most interesting of the edits.

Thanks in advance.

Curse my FAT32 body! I can't download this as the main file is over 4GB. Are there any other versions with the image split into 1GB chunks?
