Yeah the logical thing to do would be to shoot him in the leg or something and knock him out with a hypospray so he couldn't use his mind powers on everyone. it put the fewest lives at risk and it meant he didn't have to kill Sybok. Still even if killing him was the only option since when has Spock ever had a problem with killing people in order to save lives? "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few,or the one" after all.
I hear Nimoy almost didn't make the movie because that scene was so far out of character for Spock and that Shatner added the whole brother angel just to get him on board. Nimoy said he still felt it was out of character but at least he could play it as something that made some sort of sense for a human character to be doing,it just didn't make any sense for Spock to be the one doing it.
Mods please delete this thread. I tried to create it to avoid conflict but it is doing nothing but causing conflict.
I now see that I was in the wrong and I shouldn't have started this thread as it is now seen as an attack on a fellow member of this site who did nothing to warrant it.
I do not wish for this to continue so please delete this thread.
By the way can anyone tell me who the mods are,I am sorry but even after all these months I have no idea which users are mods and which are not and I would like to PM this request to one of the mods so we can put this behind us.
Thank you for your help and again I am so sorry,I should not have attacked Hotrod in this way and he had every right to defend himself.
I demand this thread not be deleted.

Don’t do drugs, unless you’re with me.
Sorry but I already reported this thread. I really think it's for the best.

as I said in the other thread, I think you are getting too worried and worked up about this. This is not that big of a deal. Just calm down, relax and dont worry about it.

He could have used the Vulcan nerve pinch.
He could have decked Sybok.
He have thrown the gun to kirk or one the other crew, saying "I can't shoot him, he's my brother"
If the gun had a stun setting(which many in the Star Trek universe do have) he could have set it to stun and then shot Sybok.
But with all those options avaibable, he hands Sybok the gun and allowed him to take the ship.
I hate that scene.

COMBO BREAKER!!!!
Seriously, it might be a good idea to delete this thread.
Nobody sang The Bunny Song in years…
No, it's an idea almost as bad as starting a thread about paying for things with laserdisc audio.

I thought you advocated gun control and didn't own a gun?

I don't own a gun.
You must have missed this:
He could have used the Vulcan nerve pinch.
He could have decked Sybok.
He have thrown the gun to kirk or one the other crew, saying "I can't shoot him, he's my brother"

*sigh*
Look at the picture. It shows Elvis shooting a television with...a gun.
You said that's you when you watch the named scene in Star Trek V (i.e. you shoot the screen when you see that scene).
I said that I thought you didn't own a gun and that you advocated gun control.
You missed the joke.
Comprendo?
How could anyone want this gold deleted?

Can someone please explain that thread to me because I still have no idea what it is going on about.
How do you pay for something with the audio, and why only audio from laserdiscs? Why not CD,DvDs,tapes,or BluRay discs?
What did I miss because I am completely confused.
Why not ask in that thread instead of this one, which is about...um...other things, like a scene in Star Trek, and Elvis shooting things, and vulgarity, and friendship, and...stuff?
Mods, please bump this thread to the front page.
Mods, please make this thread a sticky.
