Whores Galore!

There is no lingerie in space…

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I wish a way could be found to legally execute Phelps and his gang of idiots.

I thought you were against the death penalty? I could be misremembering though...

I'm not totally against it nor totally for it.   I really wasn't being serious, but it's very tempting in the case of Phelps and his minions.

While Phelps and his people are annoying, I hardly think they compare to guys who molest children or rape women. Haven't read up on his group lately, but they haven't exactly done anything serious have they? Merely practicing free speech in really insensitive and irritating ways, but free speech none the less.

Insanely insensitive and irritating, but yes, it's a stretch to compare them to people who are (presumably) guilty of an executable crime.

The death penalty is a bit much, but putting them in carbon freeze for a few years would be satisfying.

Hmm...

While I know neither of you are actually really suggesting Fred Phelps or his likes be given the death penalty, this subject is something I find interesting and is a road of thought I wouldn't mind exploring... unfortunately, things have been rather volatile when it comes to any sort of opinions on damn near anything lately (I swear this place is about to collapse on itself), so I am hesitant to even attempt to do so.

But, telling my hesitations to take a hike, I do find it interesting that, in general not specifically here, it seems the very sort who strongly oppose the death penalty for, say, serial rapist and murderers, are often the very sort who are quick to say that we'd be better off if guys like Fred Phelps, or various other "Christian bigots" or "hate mongers" were to be executed.

Seems that the deep seated belief that all people are inherantly good and capable of rehabilitation (even when their kicks are getting off inside of someones disembodied neck cavity...) only goes as deep as their judgments on others. i.e. it almost (almost) seems as if I would be considered a person more worthy of death and less worthy of rehabilitation if I went around telling people (to be unnessecarily graphic) that my imaginary entity hated them because they liked to stick their penis in other men's anuses (or have penises stuck in their anus) than I would be if I myself had a fondness for killing people and then sticking my penis in all sorts of crazy places.

One of those two above examples makes me a sick individual in serious need of help (and love and the opportunity to be a better person), while the other makes me a very hateful individual whom the world would be a better place without.

Just to be clear:

1) I do not oppose the death penalty for serial rapists and murders in theory.  The problem I have is that once an execution is carried out, it's too late to discover that the executed person was actually innocent.  But this isn't my way of saying I'm opposed to the death penalty in actual practice - I'm very conflicted on the subject.

2) I think Fred Phelps and his elk* have every right to spew their hate, and I would not try to take it away from them.  While I think the world would be better off without them, I don't even want them arrested or barred from protesting, let alone executed.  It is their right to protest and I support that.  But they are still a bunch of anuses who deserve to get Rick Rolled.

I don't think its quite that bad, this place has survived some pretty bad stuff, it will survive what is happening now.

Frink said it better than I could.   I agree with with him here 110%

I wish to say again that I really wasn't being serious about wanting to execute the Phelps gang.   I was fantasizing and that is all.

I can't believe that someone actually fantasizes about political executions, that is just sick.

C'mon ferris, we often kid Warb for taking things too literally - I think you're doing the same here.
