I think Lucas and McCallum are lovers.

They actually hinted about that at Celebration III.

I found another beautiful McCallum quote at http://www.chefelf.com/starwars/ep2_31-40.php -- this one about Episode II. It doesn't have a citation, but I'll assume it's accurate.

"You get to understand the relentlessness that Boba has," McCallum says. "Here, and especially in 'Episode III,' you’ll understand why he’s so obsessed with destroying any part of the Skywalker family."

This puts to the test McCallum's notion that he knew what was going to be in Episode III many years in advance. If he didn't even know the broad outlines of the plot (or, hell, Boba Fett's motivation in ESB), there's no way he knew specifics like the dialog on Mustafar. His reading of Episode II is pretty senseless, too. Why would Boba Fett hate the Skywalker family? Obi-Wan ruined the nice little home they had on Kamino. Yoda led the attack on Geonosis. Mace Windu killed his dad. Does this guy not think before he speaks, or is he just some actor hired to be the public face of Lucasfilm?

I'm calling shenanigans on you, Rick McCallum. George Lucas is still playing Independent Filmmaker with a Vision, and maybe that's what he still is, but you're Hollywood all the way. You're a liar and a profitteer. Get lost and let someone who cares about the franchise run things.

No joke. He and Lucas were asked by a fan how they have stayed together working for over 16 years on all the projects they have, and they start to joke around about how it was love that kept them together and they started acting like they were these two gay guys. No shit. You can actually download the segment on SW.com.

That quote is unbelieveable!!! Did RM even SEE the damn OT?!?!? Boba Fett was never obsessed with the Skywalker family. If anything, he hates the Jedi and that explains why Fett went after Luke so quickly in ROTJ.

This quote, if accurate, clearly show that RM is not in touch with the basics of SW.......one wonders where that puts Lucas....

A TV series WILL be the kiss of death for SW.

My best friend and I used to joke around in high school about how we know the world is going to hell when they make a Star Wars TV show.

We would laugh and laugh and laugh at that comment, and we thought we were the funniest people on earth when we invisioned Star Wars actually becoming a TV show. It would be like if they made a "Gone with the Wind" TV show or something. The very THOUGHT that Star Wars would become a TV show was so laughable that we were 100% confident that it would never happen. Pfft...Star Wars? A TV show? No, don't be silly. Star Wars is above that. It's a classic. That would never happen.

And now, we are all doomed to the hell we thought would never come...

Why do you hate the idea of star wars on TV? To me it will be another neat look into the SW universe, regardless of quality. It will be a chance to actually see some of the things between ROTS and ANH that sound cool, like the jedi being hunted down. I just don't see what's so funny about a star wars TV show.

i agree with star wars as a tv series used to seem strange, but not as much anymore, since the prequels reminded me of something out of star trek tng.
btw if lucas and mccallum are secret gay lovers it would explain alot, the least of which is that mccallum sounds and acts like a fag

There is NOTHING funny about a Star Wars TV show.

And there probably won't be ANYTHING good about a Star Wars TV show either.....

At least give it a chance. Attempt to enjoy it. You never know, it may actually be OK. Remember that only the first season will be written by Lucas (according to Lucas). He claims that he will "hand it off from there." Since other people, likely fans will be working on it, it may do well. Plus, it has been confirmed that the writers of the upcoming 3D Clone Wars will be going by the already made EU stories (novels, comics, games) to produce the show and Lucas will have little to do with it. In that case, I am glad. Lucas seems to have a knack for trampling all over continuity.

To me Star Wars is/was always too big for T.V (even the Ewoks and other stuff), it should have/been stayed as just films not lower it self to a T.V sci-fi show IMO

and to me it shows how far the franchise has fallen when you need a Star Wars T.V show to show things which should of/maybe have been in the actual films

I just don't think Star Wars is too big for TV. I like the idea of exploring it in different mediums. One thing I really liked about the ewok movies was the fact that they were set in the same universe, but had nothing at all to do with the theatrical films. There's just something cool about that to me.

The TV series will flop and it's a big waste of time. Star Wars is finished, let it finally burn, please.

Do we need everything explored? Does anyone care about character development? Do we need EVERYTHING spelled out for us?!

Well, here's an argument for that, Adam. You say you're always big on canon, and whatever George decides to put in or change is what Star Wars is, the end, no argument, right? Well, in your earlier post, you said that you'd be looking forward to the TV series, "regardless of quality." Well, what if the quality is so bad that it introduces horribly stupid plot points and just, overall, leaves a bad taste in your mouth. You'll now have to accept it as canon, and it will always be part of the Star Wars universe. Wouldn't you wish then that he had just left well enough alone?

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Actually, anything in the TV series will be EU, therefore on the same level as anything else EU. Only the films can override anything. It will simply be the same situation as Clone Wars Volume II was: whatever may contradict anything else will be looked at as different interpretations of events. And, they'll try to fit everything in anyway, knowing Lucas Licsensing. And there's really not much EU yet set during that era. My guess is that the series creators will follow it as they will with the 3D clone wars.

I just find it cool that things like that will be explored.

Whats the betting it will have new merchandisable chracters, that will be merchandised to death, to me it looks another excuse to make more cash out of Star Wars. and it will more than likely complicate the Story more than it is now and would Mcgregor (who would be needed if Obi Wan is to appear or will they get someone else) or say a Mcdiarmid actually appear.

My final word...

Mr Lucas please move on from Star Wars and do something else

Yeah, there's not a doubt in my mind that Lucas will HEAVILY market the show. And 2007 will be a HUGE year for him money-wise:

-3D theatrical release of ANH
-archival DVD editions
-Indiana Jones 4 in theaters
-Young Indy coming to DVD
-original Indy trilogy will no doubt be released again
-3D Clone Wars and/or live-action series will debut
-new Indy video game, as confirmed by Jim Ward
-Ungodly amount of Star Wars merchandizing
Author
Time
Interesting list, how do you know Lucas will release that crap load of stuff that year. Got any proof
also, how do you know the young Indy tv series is coming out on dvd. Stop lying and actually get your facts straight before you make accuastions. How do you still know he's doing the awful 3D versions of the saga?! For christ sake be realistic

i thought the live action show would just be peripheral characters. i really doubt it will explain anything that was already explained in the movies themselves.
i do agree about the merchandising, which is probably why theyre making new shows

How do I know? Jim Ward announced that all of the Indy stuff would be released in 2007. And all of the star wars stuff is based on either what has been reported or on strong rumors. I wasn't presenting that as exactly how it would be, just a rough estimate of how greedy Lucas can be. I thought you would quite enjoy that list, since you hate him so badly. It would give you another chance to bash him.

And of course knowing you. You actually belive things straight away that people tell you. You suck these greaseballs dicks and belive their rubbish. If you're not doing anything Adam, besides dreaming love sick fantasies about George and Star Wars, look up the word "gullible" in the dictionary.

They will supposedly be on the "final" box set of all six in 2007.

Well, you do have a point. That line is of course not true. There wil NEVER be a final box set! Even after George dies, his bitch Rick McCallum will continue releasing box sets, and Jim Ward will gladly tag along. I'm sure Steve Sansweet will have his part in it as well.
