Perhaps I've finally made my final fall into dementia, and became extremly paranoid, seeing things where there aren't any. So to those who did not agree with me, please do forgive.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

I agree that the initial messages that they have collected can be very one sided. However, those e-mails or otherwise are just posted as Snopes receives them. There are more to those couple of pages than what I posted, but that data is just the original message as Snopes found it and posted it. The text I posted here is what Snopes actually wrote in response to those e-mails, etc.

I hate forwarded e-mails for this reason. I've got a friend who is a diehard supporter of Bush and he sends out that sort of propagandistic BS all the time. I usually ignore it, but once in a while I use Snopes to debunk it. It's fun because he doesn't know what to say in response.

As for your "fall into dementia", Ric... welcome to the party.
"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is 'Never get involved in a land war in Asia'."
