Like the patch to my “Astonishing Ant-Man” duo last September, this is really just me touching up a project I’ve already done to refine and perfect it further, rather than starting a giant thing from scratch all over again.
I watched my reconsolidated version of ‘House of M’ and noticed a few issues of the same theme amongst all the episodes, but luckily because they were of the same nature, they were all quite straightforward to fix.

Namely, in the episodes’ Marvel Studios’ title where I put a red overlay on the colour grading on that block of footage to differentiate it from other things and tie into the red Scarlet Witch Magic, I noticed it was too obscuring sometimes. So, I took the overlay strength down from 66% down to 50% and hopefully now it’s still visible as intended, but not SO visible it clouds what’s behind it too much like it seemed to when I was watching it.
Secondly, in the parts where I moved parts of each episode around to fit into the ‘formula’ I created for the series of having real-world first, custom titles, Hex second, WandaVision titles to keep the ‘TV within TV’ motif the series ran on, I noticed the audio blending could have been better and smoother – so I took care of that.
Thirdly, I noticed in “Issue”s 3 & 7 where I brought in outside material from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, X-Men, X-Men: Days of Future Past & the Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Madness trailer, that audio needed to be blended and moved to the same volume as the WandaVision source probably the most, so I made sure to fix that too.

Lastly, the biggest change was in the first 3 “Issues/episodes. Previously, I used the ~102minute ‘WandaVision Chronological Edit’ by the editor ‘Joshuabri’ to essentially streamline the first 3 chapters and cut a lot of the work out so I could speedrun to the other 5 chapters and tackle the bigger bulk of the work faster. I did notice a few lines and cuts missing that jarred me a little, so this time I decided to say ‘screw it’ and tackled the linear cut of the first 4 streamed episodes across the first 3 edited chapters myself this time. Hopefully it still works cohesively as a story, hopefully it goes between the Hex and real world smoothly, hopefully the audio blending measures I took here, like above, also do well and sound good.

The poster I’m using is the same one as before, based on a textless WandaVision artwork by artist ‘KahlanAmnelle’, only with a new fanedit symbol in the lower left corner I’ve used in my recent “Star Wars Tales” project, and I think I’ll keep using on all my others from now on.

Footnote: I am merely a self-taught editor and VFX artist here, as such, some areas might be visibly mostly good – as I have to be realistic with the footage in front of me and what I can do with it, of course. If you do have any particular notes and feedback, feel free to give me your thoughts, but please be constructive and don’t be an ass about it.
