Oh, and I failed to mention something. Sorry:

When the most voted candidate dosen't get 50% + 1 vote, ignoring blank/invalid votes, there is a second turn, about 50 days later, with the 2 most voted candidates. That way we get the real majority of votes. This only happens with president, governor or mayor candidates, and it happens in about 75% of the elections. Rarely a candidate who came in second on the first election gets to win, I've seen it happen about 2 or 3 times in my life.
