New prediction: It's a collector with the 70MM PRINTS.
I wish that I could just wish my feelings away...but I can't. Wishful wishing can only lead to wishes wished for in futile wishfulness, which is not what I wish to wish for.
70mm would be insane, but I'm not getting my hopes up THAT much.
That would be funny if it was the guy that hi-jacked the ROTJ 70mm print directly from the projectionist back in '83.
My guess is that it's someone who has prints that have never been projected and stored properly over the years?

but if someone wants to contact the guy
who went to the private screening for us,
and find out who has them.. the picture
quality wouldn't be that great because of
the fading. but the sound, if captured, would
be awesome...
there is truth among a lot of what people
have guessed so far. so the ones that
are right will be relieved.
but it's not unsealed never played prints either.
that's hoping for a little too much.

No he already confirmed that project is stil on the books.
There's "something" thats supposed to be better that might come in a few years.

i was a 10 year old, living in calgary, alberta - canada,
during the fall of 1977. i had heard about a movie
called star wars, but had not seen it yet. finally
after friends had told me about it, i saw the toys,
the commercials, and decided to go. so sometime in
the fall, i went. i don't remember the exact day,
but my life was never the same again. the impressions
of the opening crawl, the flyover with the destroyer,
luke, the droids, ben, leia, han, chewie, and of course
darth vader all became a permanent part of my psyche.
the light sabers amazed, the x-wings, and death star
were sights to behold. the story, the tale, had
captured my imagination. i would go on to read the
books, buy the comics, bedsheets, you name it. to
this day, i still have my original c3p0 and r2d2
action figures, and all my collectors cards...
closing the trilogy, the special editions, and the prequels
