(Sorry, I originally put this in the wrong section)

Sooo…

The library at Lincoln Center in NYC has 2 16mm copies available. Unfortunately, I have no way of scanning it. Is there anyone else near NYC that would be interested? I don’t believe we have a scan of it yet, no?

They also have one of the Raiders of the Lost Ark documentaries on 16mm as well!

What we really need to find is Classic Creatures, and especially Star Wars To Jedi:The Making of a Saga.

If you are able to borrow them, I may be able to sort something out in NY.

They also have 16mm Star Wars, Jedi, 2001, Classic Creatures- Return of the Jedi, Hardware Wars, the Star Trek movies, The Time Machine and lots of other cool stuff.

Oh they have Classic Creatures? I did a search for Jedi but nothing came up.

Yes, they certainly do. Hardware Wars is coming out on Blu-ray this year, though.

I'm sure I'd be able to borrow them. But, then again, anyone in NYC with a library card would as well. I'm not sure how it works but I'd happily be involved, if they'd scan the Raiders doc as well :)

Interesting, but can you actually check the print out and take it home? Scanning a print is something that shouldn't be rushed.

I had a lead on a SWTJ print at an Ohio university, but the link doesn't work anymore.

The documentary prints Puggo scanned were library discards that turned up on Ebay.

Yup. You can. The titles that you cannot say "In-library use only."

Not sure how long you can take them out for but I'm sure it's not forever. I messaged the library to find out what the rules are. I certainly don't have the ability to do it but I'm sure someone does. This is, after all, NYC. Poita said he might know someone.

Hardware Wars on Blu Ray might look too good. ;)

Hope they include Ernie Fosselius' other projects, especially Porklips Now. You can probably guess what that is a spoof of...

I'm amazed any public libraries still have film collections these days.

I believe it's the performing arts library. Might make more sense :)

Regardless, I'd love The Making of Star Wars, Classic Creatures and Great Movie Stunts Raiders special. But...who knows what shape they're in or if I could get someone interested enough to do the work.

They're doing new bonus features as well. As far as I know, it's not including anything else.

Both Raiders docs made it to Laserdisc in the U.S., so there are no subtitles to contend with. Can't recall if anyone ever undertook a preservation of them.

The Making of Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom never had a video release at all, AFAIK.

;) Yours truly did.

But, surely, the 16mm would look better than the laserdisc.

We have access and scans of all the Star Wars and Raiders documentaries. In good condition. They've been taken care of, and will be released. More details will be revealed later on.

Now you tell us? Puggo has been working on the first two for quite some time.

The Disney clips were cut from all home video releases, and even prints of SPFX.

16mm and Super 8 versions of The Black Hole and Mary Poppins were purchased to restore that segment, and a Youtube video of an unedited UK broadcast was going to patch Mark Hamill's narration.

I am glad you have SWTJ, as that was a a tough one to find, only ever showing up once on Ebay, and vanishing into a collector's cupboard soon after.

I have two beta recordings of the original broadcast of SPFX if they'd be of any use in a preservation.
