Well, let's hope I can pull it off! :-)

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Carrie Fisher interview.

Maybe it's because I've been on board since the beginning and that's how she was introduced to me as a character as well as an actress, but I cannot reconcile who she was back then with who she is now.  It's a transformation I simply cannot wrap my head around.

Yep I agree totally, you could have believed her gradual aging about 10 years ago, but since then, I don't know what happened to her......but that interview.... she is HOT!!

To be fair, I think she's looking healthier than she did only 3-4 years ago.  Carrie wasn't looking too good on Wishful Drinking.

^Yeah, it was shown at a comic-con or a starwars convention of some kind. And I think you're right about it being in color, but there were color photos of that scene in the ROTJ storybook, so maybe my brain is coloring the footage with my childhood memories...

The convention footage seems to have been taken down, too (at least I can't find it...)

I remember the Topps card showing Luke hanging from the grate, and wondered why it wasn't in the movie!?

It is really cynical of LFL not putting this on the blu-ray and showing it a conventions.

I don't approve of this convention only trend.

The BBC make Doctor Who with license payers money and they give out convention exclusives.

Fans buying the endless stream of home cinema releases is a major source of income for the LFL and you have to attend an event to see this material...

It's Corporatism gone crazy.

It will probably end in bloody civil war or apathy or something...

I wondered if the proceeds from the Enhanced edition Books now went to Disney?

Catch my drift...

There is a fair amount of angst over that on the Doctor Who board I'm on.

Well they used our money in the UK to launch the BBC world service which is a private enterprise paid for with UK License subs.

At the end of the day I am glad all this stuff got released and hopefully I will get the ebooks but I looked on google play store and they are very expensive compared to kindle and ibook so I don't have any other device to view it on. It would actually be cheaper to buy a kindle fire and the books than just to get the books from google play my conclusion amazon feed google play with the content.

So there's a third version of the ebooks?

Just checked. It's true. $18 for Star Wars. $15 for the other two (each).

I've received a reply, directly from Random House:

Thank you for contacting Random House Consumer Services. We appreciate your interest in our publications.

The same files are sent to all. The individual eBook retailers compress their files at different levels to make them compatible with the output capabilities of their various proprietary devices.

I've also received confirmation from Amazon that this is the case. It's their fault.

As a result, I'm seriously considering getting an iPad now. :(

I'd roll my iPad back to 5.1.1 if it were a sure-thing, but I'm not 100% positive it'll work. I've too much to lose.

Does anyone have an old iDevice to contribute to the cause?

It's not just that it's DRM protected. I'd be happy just to get a higher quality. What's the point of having a higher quality screen if they compress the video/pq even more.

Well, the iPad version is 720p. The media files themselves are ~250MiB in total, IIRC.

I don't remember the bitrates offhand, however.
