odd vegas 5 issue

in the last month or so my Vegas 5.0 has been doing some odd things.

when I ask it to playback a clip, the sound has a constant annoying tick tock tick tock in the background which is irritating beyond belief.

anyone know if I've managed to tick some option box thats enabled this bloody thing and how I turn it off.
When a woman says yes, she means no - when she says maybe, she means no.

I'm guessing you've turned on the metronome. I've not used it myself, so let me check and see if my hunch is correct.

[EDIT] Yep. Sounds like that's the problem. Go to OPTIONS, and down to METRONOME. There should be a box around the icon. Click to turn off.

don't I feel like an idiot, doh! I've been running with the stupid thing turned on for over a month and just could not figure out what I'd turned on.
