I laughed like crazy all the way through their riff for Fellowship of the Ring. Great jokes throughout. And that's despite the fact that I like that movie at each point.

The riff for The Fellowship of the Ring is much better structured than TPM. I consider FOTR a good movie, much better than TPM and I enjoyed all three hours of the riff. I did finally finish TPM, it did pick up towards the end. It was mostly from the end of the race to the point they headed back to Naboo that was boring. Followship of the Ring feels much more like an episode of MST3K.

Since every other ancient thread is being resurrected today, and since there are a lot of us in here who never bother to look in on the General SW discussion, I thought I would bump this thing just to say,

THE HOLIDAY SPECIAL IS GETTING RIFFED!!! WHoooohooooo!!!!!

Finally, one good thing to come to us long time SW fans for the 30th.

Has anyone heard about Cinematic Titanic? Joel has reunited the entire original cast of MST (Himself, Mary Jo Pehl, Trace, Frank, and Josh) and are back in the riffing business! Picked up the first movie this past weekend. It was good, to be sure. The film itself fell into the "so bad even they can't help it" category, but it was good to see them back. Rumor has it they're planning to do 12 per year and production on the second one begins next month. They have an awesome purchasing/downloading/burning model. Give it a shot!

by the way the mystery science theater 3000 movie dvd is coming back into print again i saw it on pre orders on amazon.com.

same master apparently, bare bones and no extras.

I still find it funny that the MST3K movie is shorter than a regular episode of the show. I like the movie This Island Earth, it is the kind of silly movie that is fun to watch even without the riffs. Glad to hear it is coming back into print, I suppose Cinenmatic Titanic and Rifftraks are kind of bringing back the popularity of the franchise.

So, anyone out there who has seen episodes rifftraks and cinematic titanic? I have seen several rifftrak films, and I really like them. I was curious how Cinematic Titanic holds up in comparison. If one has notably better quality than the other, or if they are both equally enjoyable.
