Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

That theory about not aging when on the dark side doesn't work anyway, because Luke turned hime back to the "good" side just before he died. So his spirit would appear as he was when he died, not as HC. So besides that explanation being nonsensical, it doesn't even apply...

"Starwarology"? Or Jedism, that religion people were trying to include on the census?

I found other "interesting" pics on another forum. Here's the link.

Loved the "alternate" versions.

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

As far as I'm concerned, Lucas completely screwed the continuity of star wars. First, Anakin turned good at the end which means the age of his spirit would be the same as when he died, like Obi-wan. But who am I to talk? Quigon didn't even disappear when he died. The only way this would make any sense is if Quigon was the emperor's servant and was commanded to bring anakin, who was previously discovered by the Sith, to coruscant to be trained as a Jedi, then to be turned by the emperor (once in power) to the dark side to aid in wiping out the jedi.

If Anakin is to appear a Hayden Cristensen, they should re-shoot the death scene with Hayden in make-up to make him look old and scarred.

I agree this change sucks. I hope its fake but doubt it since the bits says its real I doubt it.

Doesn't matter what he looked like when he died, but you are all correct in saying it sucks and doesn't make any fucking sence!!!

Yeah, it makes as much sense as putting Woody Allen at the end of it, doing a joke as a ghost, and ending the movie with New Orleans Jazz music at the credits. Hayden as a ghost is one of the changes I still refuse to belive in, as it wouldn't make any sense at all, and would create a huge plot hole... well I refused to belive in THX-1138 special edition, and it was actually made, so...

Maybe something in Episode 3 will do something to make this change make sense. As it is now it makes no sense and in unnessesary and stupid. Why is Lucas doing this. I had so much faith in him before.

ya know you can get deleted scenes online some but not all

where might one go to find these deleted scenes?

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but there's some leaked footage on the net of the new Han vs. Greedo sequence. It's at this link here:

http://www.ugo.com/channels/filmTv/exclusive/player.asp?articleID=11317

It looks way better than the original Special Edition version did, but it's still hard to believe Greedo could miss by so much from that distance (and still harder to believe that Han would let him shoot in the first place).

Perhaps Greedo missed on porpouse. He would say "This first shot was a warning. Don't you mess up with Jabba."

I've gotten some off of the Blue Harvest website. They're obviously not great quality, but they have the Bigg's scene on Tatooine, the ANH Jabba scene without the CG Jabba (just a Scotsman in fur), and some others. They also have a really crappy copy of the Star Wars Holiday Special.

I'd say this kind of change sucks. Just Lucas' attempt to connect the trilogies by altering the older ones to fit with the new ones, then gives this half-baked explanation for it. I don't buy it and I really don't like the alteration.

That 'Lucas voice' wouldn't be too unbelievable if someone claimed it was in PAL format.

That's where they speed things up.

If it *were* true (which it's not), I'd be very afraid.

My stance on revising fan edits.

I've never heard the original audio of that scene. What does that man say to Han Solo? The same things Jabba did?

Pretty much the same stuff, just in English, not Huttese.

Yes, there was audio. All of Han's audio is the same. They just overdub the human Jabba with the slug Jabba speaking the same lines in Huttese. Other than that (and Boba Fett and the tail trouncing), it's all the same.

Boba Fett was new??
I'm not sure, but I don't think that is right. I'll have to do a little checking.
What I do know now, is this:

There was a Boba Fett action figure released pre-ESB.

My assumption was that:
It was initially made because he "appeared" in A New Hope. The release of the action figure was delayed then because the footage was cut.
Then, presumably when ESB was announced, they started to release the figure, with a little addition to the packaging, saying he was a "new character in Empire Strikes Back".

That's interesting. Where did you find that out? I read he first showed up in the Holiday Special cartoon, but then again, if he was cut out of ANH in 1977, then that would still hold true.

Just watched my clip again. He says exactly what CG Jabba says in the SE, but he has more of an Irish accent than a Scottish one, now that I've taken the time to watch the clip more closely (given my fascination with all things Irish and Scottish, I do tend to mix the two accents up fairly often ).

Man!!

Boba Fett was added to the SE.
He was not in the original footage.
If anyone can get hold of "From Star Wars to Jedi. The making of a saga" - which I have, they show the whole clip of the original guy standing in for Jabba. No Fett!!
