George Lucas is going to be the grand marshal of the Tournament of Roses parade (apparently they had some sort of ceremony yesterday), so if anyone is in Pasadena and wants to catch a glimpse of our beloved director......

The theme for the parade is Our Good Nature.

"George Lucas has brought excitement and entertainment to the world for 34 years. His creativity and talent has opened up new worlds for all of us to imagine, and has shown us how good nature can prevail," said Tournament of Roses president Paul L. Holman.

Whatsa-huh?

Hiyao Miyazaki has done more with nature in his animated films than Lucas has done in his entire career.
There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

I haven't been to the RP in years...I'm going now though. The Parade route is only minutes away.....GL is gonna hear plenty from me....

It will actually make the time waiting and wading through the crowds of drunks, gang bangers and tourists bearable....

And I sure hope Lucas' float is not modeled in the spirit of the 09/12 OUT release...his float will be of poor quality, will be far behind the times and will fall apart in no time.

I think yes....the artistry to him is just an excuse to cash in. At least on the subject of Star Wars. Seems to me that Lucas and his companies turned away from high quality a long time ago....

Lucas had a cameo in the movie. Eddie Murphy cuts in front of him as he's getting on an amusement park ride. Lucas turns into a whiny bitch about it. It's great when you think about him getting clunked in the head with an SE disk.....

Someone had to have a sound bite of that......
