I’m really confused. Are all 3 films have a “Extended Edition - 4K Dremastered” or just the first half of The Fellowship of the Ring?

Hi. Only 1st half of FOTR is done.

As i said a couple of messages above, this project is not dead, i contacted him recently and he is busy working on more important things at the moment.
He will come back to it eventually.

There are no Native-4k-Versions of these movies out there unless you count the 4k-Scans of the cinema prints made by fans (which have a lot of grain and artifacts).

WB/Peter Jackson created a 2k-DI back in the days and even the official 4k-Bluray is based on that 2k-DI, meaning they had to upscale to 4k.

DrDre’s version is based on the Extended Bluray (1080p). He regrades the movies, uses digital effects to remove the edge enhancement present on the bluray and upscales the footage to 4k.

Do you mean the Theatrical or Extended ?

I have a tradition of watching these three movies at the end of the year, ending in December with RoTK. A few days ago I read about this project and I would like to remember my childhood with this version.

I would really appreciate if you could share with me the link.

I would love to have a download link for this. I’m holding off on getting the official blu-ray due to it’s many alterations.

I would also like to request via DM a permission to be overwhelmed by the recovered details compared to the official BDs when the project is finished.
