Is it actually on Demonoid? I'm looking and don't see it anywhere.

I wish I could directly link to it... just look up Phillock... the user name, and you'll definetly find it from there.

by the way... the first Disc doesn't contain alot of re-editing... just taht when you see the film...
there is no Gandalf intercutting... until he tells the story later in Rivendell.

And there is no prologue... as useful as it is... it's not really in the book... sort of.
so we see an extended Last Alliance fight when gandalf sees the Isildur Account.

I tend to put a clip of my voice in the film... so look for my voice somewhere at the ending.

Oh I can't wait to get this, I have been hoping somebody would do an edit like this. Whoever said that the film would not have been a success if it had been filmed this way is right. Nowadays most books are written as if they were films, skipping from scene to scene showing what the different charecters are up to, just like the LOTR films. If the movies were filmed like the book we would have gone halfway through the TTT without hearing a thing about Sam and Frodo, then the second half would have been only about them, this wouldn't keep people attention as skipping from scene to scene does. But for fans of the book, this edit will be a real treat.

Any chance of an alt.bin post? Maybe even in divx (low HD space on my end)?

as you probably don't know... I'm the worst guy at figuring out compressions.... sometimes the DivX makes it go 30fps... sometime's there's ghosting.... sometimes the widescreen is wrong, sometimes the quality sucks, ect...

waiting will be useful, for I'll need some help with compressing OR someone else could do it once they download the FOTR Book-Cut.

by the way... FOTR - Book Cut Disc 2 is also available for Download! Folks with big HDs... download it!

Sweet Cover!
I will definately download this, once I finish seeding some stuff on my HD I will download it...

A suggestion: Would it make sense if the Trilogy was divided into Six movies? Because, The Three Novels contain two books each...
It would make it more watchable for the people who cannot sit through long movies.
Not that I don't like long movies... (King Kong rocks!)

Lord Phillock,
I just downloaded the first disc. I haven't watched it through yet, but I spot checked a couple of places where your edits occured. I think your edit works much better with its showing Gandalf reading about the major battle instead of just seeing it in the opening scene. The 17 years later subscript and the "The Ring Goes South" title screen were nice touchs as well. I have two comments: first, is there anyplace where the title "The Ring Sets Out" appears in the beginning? If not, perhaps just underneath the "Fellowship" would be cool, and second why no 5.1 sound? These movies have an amazing soundtrack and I would thought you would have included this. Anyway, take my comments with a grain of salt as I haven't watched it yet but I do think this will be pretty amazing!

thanks for your good-natured comments, BrikHaus...

yeah well the reason I did not include 5.1 is because I just have 2 speakers... and even though I have a 5.1 surround system for DVDs and stuff, I never actually got it to run on true surround somehow... ...

and the reason it's not there... is that I have no clue how to render it onto mpg in the first place... and my editor doesn't read the 5.1 track as an actual 5.1 track.
I'm really sorry.. I didn't know it would be such a big deal.

also I should note... check out the audio at the end of Disc 1... you will notice a change of voice for the Ringwraith that speaks to Arwen... yeah, that's a little secret audio voice clip I did of myself... just for the fun of it. And also notice the Ringwraiths chanting "The Ring! The Ring!" as well...

Don't worry, the lack of a 5.1 track isn't a big deal, I was just a little perplexed as why there wasn't one. I'll still be watching and enjoying this for sure. Also, I checked out the redub (your voice) on the ring Wraiths and I have to say it turned out really good! I think maybe even preferrable to the original. Good job, Lord Phillock

I'm going to attempt to make some covers for this. One for a 6-disc case, and then three others for 2-disc cases. My question is this: does anyone have the official (or unofficial) text synopses from the backs of the 6 individual books? Yes, they do exist, as I know someone who used to have them but no longer does. These would be perfect for presenting these as the book versions.

Can somebody please seed disc 2 of FOTR? Thanks

Same here. I seemed to get great speeds on Book 2 until yesterday it dropped down to nothing.

There's no seeds--which explains why I couldn't find the damn thing. Once I set it to search for unseeded torrents, it popped up. It's been dead for at least 24 hours.

Demonoid showing Book 2 with a seeder now. You must've jumped back on and starting seeding again.

Here's a preliminary image of the 6-disc cover. The back artwork is from the dust jackets of the book covers, going with the whole book theme and all. I am thinking about doing various colors: red, yellow, green, blue, gray. I look forward to any and all constructive criticism.

hey...where'd you get such a large One Ring?

and also... not to be too ugly but.. I think the Aniron font is alittle out of place.... I suggest Albertus... or if you don't have that, use the lowercase "EPISODE I" font...
it's a mixture of Albertus and Trajan.

otherwise... I like where this idea is going! It looks like one of those expensive hard-cover books of LOTR you can buy!

Just downloaded from demonoid...

I'm loving this so far. Well done...

How'd you do this opening with bilbo. Was it a deleted scene?

The opening with Bilbo is one of the many scenes reinstated in the Extended Editions of these films.
