Yet another of those sad folks looking for a link, can’t wait to see this version

Why not read the thread - as the OP requested to find out how to obtain the project?

With the blessing of @elendil42, you can also pm me for links.

Have FOTR & ROTK 1080p/2160p. Also have FOTR BluRay ISO.
TTT 1080p “preview” also available.

In general, simply sending a PM (unless asked otherwise) is the default way of asking for fan projects on here…

❕ I have found a Fan Edit / Preservation I am interested in - but I don’t know how to get / acquire / download it? ❕

❗ The correct way of how to ask for a fan project on the OriginalTrilogy•com ❗ (Read this before making ‘link request’ posts!)

and some other useful info…

Welcome to the OriginalTrilogy.com | Introduce yourself in here | Useful info within | Site Rules | Fan Project Rules

Please leave some feedback for the fan projects on here - or even a review… (and join in with the discussions on this forum!)

Good luck with it. 👍

Thanks, I actually did that already but originally had thought it couldn’t hurt to ask elsewhere as well, my previous experience was in a thread where the original person in charge of distribution was on hiatus

I’ll make sure to limit such requests to those unique types of scenarios going forward

Got a question. Is there even a 35mm film print of The Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition? All I heard since I was a little kid at the age of 7 to 10 years old from late-2001 to 2004 was that only the Theatrical Cuts were released on 35mm film prints in theaters.

http://archives.theonering.net/features/newsroom/files/102003_trilogytuesday_aftermath.html

“As if you didn’t already know, these tickets weren’t just for the showing of the three films, but the first two (Fellowship Of The Ring and The Two Towers) would be a special showcase of the DVD extended editions in theaters for the first time. Prints for these films were minted just for this event and at considerable cost to New Line Cinema. One week prior to the on-sale date, the movies’ official web site listed the U.S. screening locations.”

And both 35mm film prints were created directly from their 2k masters, right? Like I said, I knew nothing about this until now, except the fact that I only knew that only the Theatrical Cuts existed in 35mm film prints.

Not sure on that.

Anybody got synced subtitles for these?

Hi. Yes, the new scan of TTT is complete. 1080p and 2160p versions available, like the other movies.
Note also that there’s a new encode of ROTK 2160p (there were reports of encoding/compression issues with the initial release some months ago).

You can PM me if you’d like a copy of any of them (or any of the other releases).

Also reminder, these are not my prints, I can’t claim any credit for the scanning & real effort. I’m just helping to make them available. You can thank @elendil42 and others for making this happen.

I’d love a link if available. Apologies if you aren’t the right person to PM for this anymore, I scanned through these pages and couldn’t find the instructions @elendil42 mentioned. Like a few others, I’d be happy to donate to their future projects if someone has a link for that as well.

Thanks Snoopac I’m enjoying Fellowship of the Ring. For the first time it looks like it did in the cinema no DNR has been applied. PJ really needs to go back and remaster these films they are horrible on 4K.

👍
But don’t thank me, I didn’t get the print or get it scanned etc…

Thanks to Elendil then. But you are the one who shared the film with me. I was just being grateful.

I had forgotten to thank you and felt like saying thanks.

I had the unique privilege of seeing the first screening of this at the Liberty Tree mall theater and having the print break halfway through. While they stopped it for 20 or so minutes to splice the print back together. Right at the Ringwraith scene. I was there with a buddy of mine Nathaniel, and his brother Eliot. Fellowship was a great film to experience except for the broken print and audio going wacky while it unspooled and broke.

The splice was an inventive temporary solution as they had to order a replacement reel for future showings.

Hi there,

I have a friend moving back to the UK after a year in Spain and thought it would be great to watch through these movies together (we always used to growing up). These scans look fantastic. I have read through the thread and couldn’t find a link. Would anyone be able to send me a link please?

is there an 35mm version of all the 3 movies extended edition?

Only FOTR extended has a 35mm scan so far.
In theory it’s possible that someone will find a TTT extended print and have it scanned.
In theory it’s NOT possible that someone will find a ROTK extended print and have it scanned, as 35mm prints were never created in the first place.

Note, I have no personal knowledge about this stuff, I’m just repeating what I’ve read from others since these scans had become available.

Man, would’ve been awesome if Peter Jackson released the extended cut of Return of the King in 35mm film print back in December 2004, in keeping the tradition of celebrating each chapter of trilogy by releasing an extended cut in the theaters a year after its original theatrical cut’s release. That would’ve been a perfect way to end 2004 and begin 2005, you know.

(Update: After posting this comment below 12 hours earlier, someone decided to pm me, without even reading this comment carefully, assuming that I “have” the link to the 35mm film print of FOTREXT. Let me clarify all of you that I do NOT have the file and I originally post this comment below to see if anyone here actually have the gofile link or the file. Please, read my comment carefully before even deciding to message me.)

Anyway, anyone here has gofile.com link to the 35mm film print of The Fellowship Extended Cut in a very huge 4kHDR mkv file of at least the size of 100gb? Please pm me if y’all have the link. I actually owned the 2011 US Extended Cut Blu-Ray Collection of LOTR Trilogy, The 2015 US Extended Cut Blu-Ray Release of The Hobbit Trilogy, and the 2021 UK release of the Middle Earth 4k Ultimate Collection.

Any word on if there have been any attempts to clean up artifacts from the 35mm scanning process?

Anyone here has a custom Cinema DTS 5.1 Track or a 6.1 DTS-HD Audio Master Surround Sound specifically for the 35mm film print of The Fellowship Extended Cut?
