Oops, apologies
Would love links to these, if anyone can share them.
First many thanks to elendil42 for this hard work.
About the Extended cut, SnooPac confirmed it’s a full 35mm print. I didn’t even knew the extended version were released in theaters, not in my country for sure. What about the TTT and ROTK ?
I’m not an expert on the situation.
Apparently all 3 extended were released in theaters.
But only FOTR and TTT were put on 35mm film for that purpose. ROTK was not.
So potentially one day there could be a TTT extended scan, but never a ROTK EE 35mm scan.
Anyone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong 😃.
Any chance for a link for the 3 films? thanks for your efforts!
Hello,
I just discovered this project and I’m dying to see the trilogy in this quality. I went to a LOTR marathon for the 4K release, and I was so disappointed. The denoiser killed the magic, and the FX are not made to be seen in this quality. I don’t understand this idea of making old movies as sharp and clean as possible.
I saw this extract uploaded on YouTube: https://youtu.be/WEj9owdr09c?list=LL, and it looks so wonderful. Is it extracted from this Lord of the Rings 35mm scan project? Would it be possible to have a PM with a link to download it? Thank you so much for doing this. Fortunately, there are people like you who take time in their lives to do things that the entertainment industry hasn’t done correctly. This is the power of the LOTR fan base.

What Peter Jackson did with these films and The Hobbit is unforgivable, I love this 35mm versions (Just wish the colors were graded) and the extended bluray boxset. Too bad the released 4k is dnr and scenes got mutilated with P. Jackson, the hdr and colors was good though but not enough to save it. On another note, it’s laughable how he dnr’ed the Hobbit also which was shot digitally!
is anyone working on projects using these scans to clean up and color grade? maybe some hdr too
around the survivors a perimeter create

Hopefully, this version if cleaned, regraded and added HDR will exceed any version out there. It’s the version with the least amount of dnr and has beautiful grain.
Thank you to the individual who provided and scanned these prints! You have contributed to me watching the LOTR trilogy too much lately.
I’d love a link if anyone can share it!
Thank you

I would like the link to be able to get a copy of the 35mm if it is possible?
Best Wishes
Alastair
I see some people are asking in the thread. Not sure which of you were able to get it or not.
Posting again in case people didn’t see the earlier pages. You can PM me if you are still looking to acquire these.
I would love a link to the V3! Please PM me whoever has it ❤️
Hello, could someone please help me find the 35mm films? Having trouble on how to find them.
hello, please send me link, i cannot find them. Thank you.
Now, if only someone would remove the dirt, hair, and scratches from the film, then we would have a true remaster on our hands.
Edit: Or at least as a separate project, in case some people like the dirt, hair and scratches that are in the 35mm Version.

As available 35mm scans go, these are remarkably clean to begin with. But I too would welcome such a project. In addition, reproducing the extended cuts of TTT and ROTK and “35mm-izing” the extended cut footage to match the rest.

Speaking of welcomed boons, I think the 35mm Editions could also benefit from:
Giving the Theatrical and Extended Editions of FOTR some chapter markers, since TTT and ROTK are not lacking in those,
Some additional audio options, mostly for multiple languages and commentary,
as well as,
