I’ve got the 2004 Special Edition release around on CD somewhere, I could dig it out and see if it still works?
Or do you mean the 1997 or 2018 releases? (Sorry, I don’t have those)
It may be featured somewhere in here?:
The Star Wars Audio Projects category of An Index Of Projects & Help Thread for Star Wars Preservations
or something about it in An Index of OT•com threads on all things the Audio of the Original Trilogy
“Don’t tell anyone… but when ‘Star Wars’ first came out, I didn’t know where it was going either. The trick is to pretend you’ve planned the whole thing out in advance. Throw in some father issues and references to other stories - let’s call them homages - and you’ve got a series.” - George Lucas
don’t need it anymore, thanks though
There was never a full complete movie soundtrack of all the music in the movie with Lapti Nek and Yub Nub, correct? I have the 1997 double cd set with all the music,(which includes the 97 “Victory Celebration” and the dreaded “Jedi Rocks”…ugh) and the bonus disc from the trilogy set for Lapti Nek and Yub Nub. To my knowledge there was never a release to do both, but I figured this would be as good a place as any to clarify that.
Another question: is there any official music release of the music the Max Rebo band plays on the barge?
You’ll laugh! You’ll cry! You’ll kiss three bucks goodbye!
Back in the day the original soundtracks were on cassette before the whole 1997 incident. Can’t recall what exactly was on them but Lapti’Nek and Ewok Celebration are listed if you check it out. Thing is… I have a feeling they’re not the film versions for some reason. I’m not sure on your last question, I feel like people over time had resorted to cleaning up the audio to get the music out, which didn’t work that well.
I think the most complete non special edition of OT’s music on CD is the Star Wars Trilogy longbox. It definitely has Lapti Nek and Ewok Celebration (Yub Nub).

Yes! Turns out this is the set I found only the bonus disc to at a record store. I was excited it had Lapti Nek and Yub Nub, and I knew it said 4 on the spine so it must be part of some set. Thanks for the discogs link.

That is such a beautiful box set. The booklet inside looks stunning!

There is a cool blog post by the person who wrote the liner notes for the above release, here: https://www.lukaskendall.com/post/the-star-wars-4cd-anthology (Lukas Kendall)
The RavensFilm Productions YouTube channel did a 30 minute review/retrospective video on the 1993 release, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHHMBLHTcsA
And Collectors Entertainment Network YouTube Channel did an 8 minute unboxing/content type video on it, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSwohrxp7Go
That 1993 box set release is something I’ll definitely be looking to add to my collection.

I want complete scores of what is actually heard in the films, as well as all that was written composed and recorded. Disney hasn’t done that.

Yup, often talked about on the John Williams forums (JWFan.com) and regarded as something of a dream.
