Looking for a Lucas interview

Author

There was an interview with George Lucas and Francis Coppola, i belive in the 1980's, that i am looking for.
At one point an amusing exchange occurs:

Coppola: Now, the early Star Wars script you showed me, how was that different?
Lucas: Well, the twins were there and Vader was the father...
Coppola: Really? They were there--
Lucas: There were there [goes on to talk about other stuff]

Or something close to that. I have no idea where it is from or what the actual quote is but I've been dying to find out. Does anyone here know about this?

I too am a bit confused. (a There should have been a They maybe) This was a video of some sort? or a written interview. Having those two together talking about SW should refine the search. I'm guessing shortly after RotJ, could it have been part of the Joseph Campbell interviews?

poking around found these video of Lucas talking on a variety of generic topics. not what your looking for but someone of you's might be interested: http://www.achievement.org/achievers/luc0/movies/ Full interview here: http://www.achievement.org/autodoc/page/luc0int-1

I don't know about that particular interview, but you can find the original early scripts here, and see how some elements were consistent throughout while others changed.

War does not make one great.

Wasn't this in the BBC special "A Long Time Ago: The Story of Star Wars" done around TPM? Or at least there was a similar portion. They were sitting around and eating with Saul Zaentz.

The footage seems more modern than the 80s, but it's available to download in small parts at TFN and babyhum is supposed to be releasing this as well.

Here's a great interview with George Lucas. It's very informative and was taken back when TPM came out.

(Sorry. I don't know how to make a direct link)
