Yes, i think it's an awful idea, sorry but that's my opinon. Why do i have to sit through 10 questions just to see this, or everytime i want to show it to family and friends? Beside, what will this have over the one i'm after?

Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb. An easter egg is one thing, this is the entire point of your DVD and no one will know it's on there.

Scooby Doo has something like that where if you win this DVD game, you can watch a clip with I think Pamela Anderson. On some DVD's you have to enter a code to watch certain things. Is what I have done really any different?

Entering a code is one thing, this is just downright stupid. Sorry, but I don't know what you were thinking when you did this.

Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!

marioxb - Sounds like this idea is getting universally panned. I really hope you are reconsidering this. PS I'd rather have the colour version of the 1960 movie w/ commentary. I've seen the b/w verson now and it's a bit dull

How about you guys check out the trivia before you cry about it. Once you know the answers it takes a max of 23 seconds to get to the ending. Besides, I don't have the source files anymore to re-do the disc. I have very limited HD space, so whenever I finish a project and burn it, everything gets deleted. It would be really easy to change the version of the movie on it now, but not so easy to totally change the menu structure. Look, THEY don't want the ending to be seen. It was on the shelves ONE day before being pulled. It's a comedy movie, I think it's funny to have it this way. It kinda like, what ending? There's no alternate ending on here, ha ha! Besides I LOVE trivia and think you should be rewarded for answering correctly. I was inspired by the 5 trivia questions on the Madacy LSoH 1960 movie. It kinda sucked that it went back to the menu after finishing, no reward, nothing. It had some stupid stock footage of atom bombs or people cheering, depending on your answer. Mine has 10 questions (5 created by me), about both versions of the movie. If wrong, you see a clip of Audrey II laughing and it goes back to the question. If you get it right, it goes to the next question.

My version is better than the recalled disc in my opinion, only if you already own the movie, without the ending. Here's why:

1. (This is probably more important to me than it is to most) NO duplicated features. I personally HATE having DVDs with the same features as another disc. (which is why I re-do some SW discs. I only need ONE showing of the Muppet Show, thank you.) ALL of the features other than the ending are duplicated if you own the re-release and original

2. 1960 movie: probably gonna be the color version w. commentary now. If you wanna see it in B&W, turn off the color on your TV.

3. Poster/ Photo gallery: all of the LSoH pics i could find. Posters, covers, lost scenes all set to a song from the soundtrack not in the actual movie.

4. dvd-rom soundtrack

Also, the only reason the ending torrent was posted was because I requested it to use for my project, and this is MY thread. So there!

I only wish I could find stuff from the crappy cartoon to include.

Here is a four part RAR file totalling 107mb, with my LS disc, minus the ending footage and old movie. Basically just to check out my menus and trivia:

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

Oz's original ending is a true work of art

But you're being a moron, so this thread I'll depart

Your being completely rediculous marioxb, by your own hands you have ruined what would otherwise have been an excellent disc. You have produced this to share to others but have ignored what others wanted becuase you think your right, your no better then the big studios!! The only issue i have is having to go through ten bloody questions everytime i want to show the alt ending. It's like being forced to go through serveral film trailers that you can't skip before getting to a DVD menu, surely you have experinace how bad that is!?

My best bet will be to grab marioxb disc, Mr bridgers disc and see if i can make a definative disc

23 seconds! Anyway, tell me how to change it without completly starting from scratch, and I'll do it. Honestly, how many times are you guys gonna watch the alternate ending anyway? I'm a sucker for happy endings and I actually like the the happy ending better.

What can I do with the trivia then if not have the ending there? How about the trivia unlocks the 1960 movie? Not sure how to do this yet..

So what about the Scooby Doo movie example I posted? You have to play a DVD game every time you want to see a clip of Pamela anderson. I think that's a somewhat cool idea.

I'm not gonna completly get rid of the Trivia questions. As soon as I found out DVD Lab Pro had that option, I was in heaven. This is the first time I have attempted this.

Yes, that would be much better. It would be more worth it as it's a whole movie.

Well, can you do me a favor and download what I posted and help me figure out how to make this change? Like I said, I can't start over because I don't have the files anymore. I could re-rip it, but it took way too long as is. I don't have the patience to start from scratch. It would invole a LOT of work. Just take a look at my menus please. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Besides.. I said all along (sort of) that the trivia questions would unlock the ending, and no one complained until now.

Trying to please everyone is hard...

What i would probably do is take the vob files for the colour version of the 1960 movie w/ commertarty from your disc and then edit your menus along with regiging mr bridgers disc. Or i might make new one's depends. I've never done this before either but auorthrising software has come a long why in the couple of years.

Most people have gotten tired of easter eggs unless they're trivial. For example, some throwaway interviewers are put on some DVD's like Citizen Kane and Singin' in the Rain. Some of the Walt Disney Treasures sets have Disneyland TV show intros and newsreels hidden away. Very easy to find, too.

However, putting a major feature behind a whole slew of trivia questions is just obnoxious. I can't believe you would be inspired by a Madacy DVD. They're the worst DVD company out there. It's like taking cooking pointers from Ed Gein.

Quite doltish. It also reminds me of what the mutts at New Line did with their "Nightmare on Elm Street" box - to see the alternate ending, one had to complete an imbecilic "game" on the bonus disc. After two minutes of that "game", I ripped the disc, extracted all M2V files from the VOBs, and found the alternate ending by checking file sizes...

By the way, it would indeed be lovely to have the greedy producer of the film let Oz do a true director's cut and restore this Real And Good Ending to its proper place in the film, in color... taking the horrible current "happy" ending that the cretins from the preview audience demanded and relegating it to DVD extras (as is e.g. the case with that laughable "happy ending" of "To live and die in L. A.:"...).

A few days ago I was about to post my new test menus. I re-did the thing where hitting Play Movie plays the alternate ending, chooseing scene selection plays a short clip warning you that you have to do the trivia to watch the 1960 movie. Playing the trivia takes you to the scene selction menu. While I was uploading the files, my hard drive crashed on me. I am posting thios with my sister's computer. Now the HDs (actually both of them from my computer) are detected as being there, but are not properly formatted, and don't show up in "My Computer". Is there any way to get my data back? I have so much information on there that would be almost impossible to get again!

You can put the alternate ending in special features.

Yeah, I could have ocp, but there really isn't a way to do that without making a new menu for it. Hopefully I can get back what I lost already!

Hi Mr Bridger,

I too have come with my begging bowl, as rmuneton did some time ago. I've been trying download the second disc for quite some time but it has never has any seeds, sadly. Although I am a new member, but once purely a lurker, I would be extremely grateful if anyone could point me in the direction of an alternative location to get the contents of this torrent or even re-seed the torrent. I'm mainly after an uncompressed version of the alternate, or original, ending of the film which was found on the recalled second disc if this makes this request easier to fulfil.

Thank you for your time and effort.

I hate to admit I missed out on this too, and it's already been a year after it was released. If anyone at least has that deleted ending, I wouldn't mind just getting that. It kinda sucks finding out too late over these things.

There is going to be a new release of this movie on DVD (and possibly HD formats) and they are looking to include this ending again with a finished colorized version, I believe.
