Has anyone bought this set? What are your thoughts on it if you have?

Damn I have this set, never spent so many hours building a lego set. I love it, best set they have done. Make sure to use glue otherwise your f***ing cat will take it out about 20min after finishing it! Bloody Cat, it got hit by a car.

I have the 3-D puzzle of the star destroyer (and the millenium falcon) those things always fall apart its such a pain to keep fixing them. I spent a few hours putting those together

"Saturday night Michi and I finally assembled my Lego Star Destroyer. It took us close to 10 hours (we started around midnight). We let my webcam take a picture every five seconds and made a stop motion video out of the pictures (over 7000 of them). The video turned out really cool. It's a little over 4 minutes long and you can download it here."

I'm impressed, they got it right, 13 engines. Something West End Games could never do. The Executor-class Star Dreadnought is 11 miles long, not 5.

And yes, I AM bitter at WEG for perpetuating and originating the 5 Mile Myth.

I do like the model of th Imperator-class Star Destroyer that Lego offers.

Yes, but unfortunately he is too much into EU

Heck, this is THE ULTIMATE Lego set I would like to own, period. I wish I could teleport myself back to 1980s and give myself such whopping birthday gift
I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...
