I decided to start watching Electric Dreams on Amazon prime to see if i like it as much as i like Black Mirror on Netflix.

i don’t.

it is alright, but it feels a little obvious to me in the themes they have chosen (only saw first 2 eps so far).

Although I did get a little done today, I went through my list and rejected everything you suggested. Also I went back to the things I put in that you suggested and I removed them.

Even though I know the link, and even though there isn’t a link, I still clicked on it anyway.

Seeing the X-Files go on like this makes me sad. I love the early seasons.

Whereas J. Michael Straczynski took time and care crafting Babylon 5, making sure he had the series’ story planned out years in advance, making significant changes only when real-world issues got in the way, Chris Carter has no vision, no goal, makes shit up as he goes along, and changes his mind on a whim.

Chris Carter is the Anti-Straczynski.

So Chris Carter wouldn’t write a Superman walking around aimlessly and almost letting a woman commit suicide?

He’d probably make Superman part of the alien conspiracy … until he doesn’t. And he’d make Supes a Kryptonian … until he isn’t.

All joking aside, I’m not a fan of Straczynski’s superhero work, either. Superman: Earth One was crud, the “spider totem” stuff he injected into Spidey’s backstory was beyond unnecessary, and Thor … I hate that movie. The man should stick to stuff like Babylon 5.

Making my way through Season 2 of The Shannara Chronicles. It’s trash but I’m watching it anyway.

Is Season 1 good?

It had John Rhys-Davies but I think it was worse than Season 2. The 1st was produced by MTV, the 2nd by Spike, now they’re looking for a new outlet. There’s enough fantasy trappings to keep me going. I haven’t read much fantasy but the couple modern fantasy books I have read kept me appalled and enthralled. I read “Wizard’s First Rule” and “The Queen of the Tearling” in the last year and after I was finished didn’t have a burning desire to read more in those series. Kind of similar feeling about this show. I think if you like those sorts of books and can put up with (or like) CW-style romance/drama wrapped up in fantasy, then you might like this show.
