The only major flaw in the first season is the lack of a Halloween episode.

Man, I hadn’t even noticed that until you brought it up. I don’t really think that’s a flaw though, since the season was over by Halloween 1990.

“Stranger Things”

Up to episode #4. This is so good!

Chapter 4 is actually what really hooked me. It was very hard to leave myself 4 more Chapters since my life’s mission at the time was fixated on finishing the show.

Black Mirror

Up to episode 3 of series 3 and still undecided about this anthology. It is well made, thought provoking, and for the most part entertaining; but I am rarely satisfied with the conclusions. I guess that may be deliberate in some cases, but others seem like ideas only partly fleshed out. Then again it could just be me, programmed by Hollywood to expect a happy ending or a story that goes full circle.

Westworld

Currently the best series on TV IMO.

Just finished watching the first season of Gravity Falls. It was surprisingly really great. Loved the animation, the characters, the stories and the music. Can’t wait to watch season two.

The OA

Episode 1 was meh. Episodes 2-5 were pretty damn good. Episodes 6-8 were hokey and silly.

Man…that was incredible! I really dug this show 😃

I actually watched it with my mother and she said that it PERFECTLY captured the 80’s feel. The characters were pretty great. Story was interesting. Some of the CGI was hokey but you can’t expect too much from a Netflix show. But on the other hand, it was shot VERY professionally and felt quite cinematic at times. I thought all the characters grew in very fascinating ways along the course of the show. I was able to predict a lot of the story early on but it still was captivating and the last episode was very cathartic. That is the best word to describe the season finale haha

It’s a shame it hasn’t been released on Blu-Ray yet. The second we finished the show I went right on Amazon to purchase the blu-ray set haha

Black Mirror. I’ve only seen Episode 1 and 3 of Season 3 so far, but I’m loving it.

I’ve only seen 2 episodes so far; but of the ones I’ve seen, I think the endings were supposed to be unsatisfying or even depressing.

Finished Avatar: The Last Airbender this weekend. I know we give “anime” a lot of crap around here, but I thought this series was a fantastic distillation of an anime series for American audiences. It has about as much plot as the 220 episodes of Naruto but condensed into 61, with only a handful of filler episodes. I really enjoyed the entire series and can’t wait to start Legend of Korra.

I thought that show was American anyway. As in not actually anime, but maybe kinda looks like it sometimes. I never watched it, so I don’t know, that’s just what some friends of mine who did watch it told me.

Good luck with Korra. It has some great moments but it never lived up to the quality of the original series for me.

It’s a Nickelodeon original series, its just so inspired by anime and Asian culture that most signage is in Chinese characters, so it might as well be anime. Anime made by Americans for Americans. Make Anime Great Again.

I’ll temper my expectations accordingly. I’m also planning on grabbing the comics next time Comixology has a sale, they take place between Airbender and Korra and finish storylines from the first series while providing backstory for the second.

You should’ve put quotation marks around “so”, 'cause it appears you’re admitting your persecution of anime has been anything but rightful.

I was confused by his misspelling of “carp.”

Dexter Seasons 1 - 4:

Still holds up and is probably still my favorite show.

So seasons 5-8 are skippable? I don’t want to watch the entire show if only the first half is worthwhile.

Season 7 is great and in terms of Dex and Deb’s arc it’s probably the best place to stop. Either way you’ll be satisfied but I would strongly advise you not to watch Season 8.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Mmm. That’s some damn fine casting there. I can’t wait for Season 2.

I watched the first half of Episode 1 and couldn’t stand it any time Count Olaf wasn’t on screen. The kids are super annoying and too peachy keen.
