Well this past week i have been watching the first season of Scarecrow and Mrs.King on DvD.  I have to admit I only picked up this show at the library because I am such a huge B5 fan and it is beyond dated. if you have trouble taking 80s family shows you will not make it through one episode of this show. Still you know what? When I am in the right mood it's an enjoyable kind of dated. It's from a much simpler time when we didn't have plot arcs and stories were resolved within an hour but I guess maybe that is what I need once in while. It's lighthearted and not the sort of thing that you should think to hard about but the two leads are good, the episodes are interesting enough to keep me watching for the hour, and it has a fun lighthearted feel.

I can't explain why I have found this show to be enjoyable because when i think about it this should be the type of show that I hate but for some reason I did enjoy it. I guess it is one of those shows that you either like or you will not get it at all and if you do get it you can't explain why.  It was a fun little trip back to the decade of my birth and I don't regret watching it so that is something.

If you are looking for some light 80s escapism then give this show a shot,it may surprise you.

I know the show, because my Girlfriend is a big fan of Bruce Boxleitner. She owns all 4 seasons on DVD and she watches them once a year. I'm just glad she doesn't do that with Babylon 5.

Something odd happens when Scarecrow and Mrs. King is on TV again, and I stumble across it while zapping through the channels. It's always the same episode: "Wrong Number".

Well never hang out I my place I work my way through B5 on DvD once a year.

That is odd but the same thing keeps happening to me with the show Castle, every time I come across a rerun of it on TV it's always the episode with the underground poker players, weird.

Are we both part of some evil X Files style government experiment?

Nice to see In The Flesh back on.

If the first series was playing with AIDS, Strike-breaker and Sectarianism metaphors (predominantly 80's subjects) this series seems to be more up to date with UKIP and ATOS clearly the targets.

I like how they deal with the more expensive actors left over from last year :-D

I just finished the first episode of a series called Justified. I know nothing about it other then it's case caught my eye in the local library. Anyone who knows me will tell you that there are few things I like more then a good western and so far this seems to be a fresh modern take on the western. it's well acted, tense, and the shoot outs are really well directed and edited. i would say it is good even for a film,it's not often that you see action and stand offs done this well on Tv.  So far I have to say I am having a good time watching this show.

It was a nice surprise. I never expected them to do more. I think this season will be longer, too.

You know what i think I am liking most about this series, that it seems to be made up of stand alone stories that have recurring characters instead of it being one big story with one big villain hanging over it all.  Now don't get me wrong I have nothing against the serial format where each episode leads into the next but lately it feels like everyone is doing it and I am a little tired of it. Some times I just want to be able to watch one episode of a Tv show, see the story play out,and not be left in suspense. So good job Justified. I like the characters so you don't need some sort of consent threat hanging over the series to keep me watching, just characters in interesting stories.  I really am enjoying this series and I can't believe I never heard of it before.

What?  I don't care about MMO but the show is funny.

What;s wrong with liking MMOs?  I don't play them because of a lack of highspeed but I have to say the idea of going online and complete a quest with a team of friends instead of computer controlled AIs sounds fun to me. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Currently rewatching Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and I'm now into the second season. Seeing Melissa Joan Hart in tight pants episode after episode makes me feel like a hormonal teenaged boy again.

Just finished the first season of True Detective. It was good.

I watched the first season of the HBO Spawn series.

While I liked the animation, everything else was unappealing to me, so I won't be watching the rest of the series.

I watched the first season of the British series "The Hour".

I liked it very much, and the Bond references were cool.

ah, those days.

I've been re-watching the early 90's series The Byrds of paradise [featuring a 20yo Seth Green playing a high school student]. I used to love that show, shame it got cancelled pretty early.

Also been getting into Strip Search - elimination contest featuring comic strip artists. Made by the guys at Penny Arcade.

Decided to finally catch up on season 2 of Mortal Kombat Legacy. I really don't know what happened here but it was pretty dull overall. The first season was good fun but season 2 was kinda boring - and they even brought back Shang Tsung from the first movie [Cary Tagawa]!

It ends on a cliff hanger and i've heard talk of a third season but I don't think i'll bother unless it back to being more like season 1.

It's fantastic. I got the urge to watch it again the other day, but I ended up not doing so. Mrs. O'Five and I got to meet Lexxy at GenCon last year, her and her mom are super nice.

The Mrs and I watched the new season of Orange Is The New Black. It's just as good as the first season, I think.

Interesting so far.

Moone Boy.

A show where Chris O'Dowd plays the imaginary friend of a 12 year old boy which is loosely based on his own childhood. Good fun.

Continuum.

Finally caught up in time for the third season finale. Really digging this show.

I have been working my way through Monk on DvD and I can't believe how many episodes I missed the first time around.  I just got done with the garbage strike episode where Monk goes nuts and has a bunch of insane theories including the most awesome murder scene ever aired on TV!

That was just amazing!

Needless to say I am really enjoying this show.

Monk was pretty enjoyable for what it was.

We started watching right before we had our older daughter, so needless to say we got a kick out of saying "Wipe!" whenever there was a cleanup on aisle baby.

JEDIT: Changed "first daughter" to "older daughter" because it wasn't technically true.  Eight years on and I'm still doing this kind of thing. :-(

Wow,I am so sorry.  How do you go on after something like that?  The closest thing I ever had to kids are a brother and sister who are a decade and a half younger then me that I helped raise and I can't imagine loosing them and my pain would have been nowhere close to yours .

I am so sorry for your loss.  I am tearing up now.

I pray that you and your family will be okay.
