I know I've said it before but Farscape is still amazing.

Well this past week i have been watching the first season of Scarecrow and Mrs.King on DvD.  I have to admit I only picked up this show at the library because I am such a huge B5 fan and it is beyond dated. if you have trouble taking 80s family shows you will not make it through one episode of this show. Still you know what? When I am in the right mood it's an enjoyable kind of dated. It's from a much simpler time when we didn't have plot arcs and stories were resolved within an hour but I guess maybe that is what I need once in while. It's lighthearted and not the sort of thing that you should think to hard about but the two leads are good, the episodes are interesting enough to keep me watching for the hour, and it has a fun lighthearted feel.

I can't explain why I have found this show to be enjoyable because when i think about it this should be the type of show that I hate but for some reason I did enjoy it. I guess it is one of those shows that you either like or you will not get it at all and if you do get it you can't explain why.  It was a fun little trip back to the decade of my birth and I don't regret watching it so that is something.

If you are looking for some light 80s escapism then give this show a shot,it may surprise you.

lol I've been called Hair Bear lots of times. :) I used to watch the hell out of that show when I was a little kid.

Regular Show. Took me long enough to get round to it, but I think I like it even more than Adventure Time. Hmph! Hmph!

Almost Human (2013)

Karl Urban continues to be awesome. I really hope they pick this up for another season.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013)

The first half of the season wasn't anything to write home about but it has consistently gotten better and now I'm of the opinion that if you dig the movies you need to watch this show.

Gravity Falls (2012)

A fun show the likes of which I would have expected to see on Cartoon Network not Disney. Explores all of the cryptozoological and mysterious subjects that fascinated me as a kid. Good stuff.

I've begun to rewatch Andromeda for the first time in years, and I'm almost through the first season. Some poor special effects/sets/makeup aside, I'm enjoying it, and finding most of the episodes to be better now than when I first watched them as a kid in the early-mid '00s.

I know the quality of the show goes down after the second season, but I'm planning on watching it straight through to the end of the fourth season. I loathed the fifth and final season when I first watched it, though, so I won't bother with it at all this time around.

On a final note, I just love Laura Bertram as Trance Gemini. I can't help but smile whenever this incredibly sexy, bubbly character

makes an appearance.

The episode where they try to find a Laserdisc player in order to watch a rare movie cracked me up.

Currently watching the majority of Farscape for the first time. I've seen the ending and several last season episodes but the start of it all and the rest of the seasons are largely unseen by me. I may have seen a few of the early episodes randomly on tv once though. I'm in Season 2. Enjoying it thus far :-)!

When you're done you can read the Andromeda Coda, which explains the initial plans in script form. http://www.roberthwolfe.com/Insider%20Info.htm
Also you can read the thread wherein there are questions presented about where the show was going to go and the initial Roddenberry show notes that RHW had to work with. http://www.exisle.net/mb/index.php?/topic/28187-andromeda-coda-qa-thread/

^I actually read through both only a few days ago. I figured it'd be interesting to watch the show knowing what was originally planned in the back of my mind.

Well, I finished watching the first four seasons of Andromeda (minus a couple episodes that I deliberately skipped over), and what I have to say is this:

I'm not angry at the way this show was derailed after the first half of the second season -- how it was turned into an incoherent mess with horribly misdeveloped characters and awful continuity -- just incredibly disappointed and very, very, very sad.

I still like the first season-and-a-half of the show, though -- along with a handful of episodes from the third -- and therefore I'm going to try to create my own rewrite of the series sometime in the future, one which stays true to the spirit of the show as it was in the beginning (that'll be an incredibly daunting task for me, though).

Yeah i would be looking forward to it but it is on Fox and it isn't a Seth Mcfarlen show so it will be canceled after three episodes.  I will catch up with it on DvD if it makes it to the end of it's first season.

The first trailer for GOTHAM has just dropped.

I am intrigued....

I would love to see this show succeed.  It has some great potential if they care for it enough to do it justice.

Definitely got a bit of a Smallville vibe watching the Gotham trailer. I don't expect much but I'll probably check it out. I do like me some Donal Logue.

Is anybody watching Silicon Valley? - It's a new show from Mike Judge about a bunch of programmers trying to get rich. Apparently it's loosely based on some of his own experiences.

I read that it's already been greenlit for a second season which is good news...but I also just read that one of the actors just died of lung cancer so I'm not sure what will happen there. Kinda sad.

The last time they did a show set in Gotham without Batman, it didn't last very long. We'll never get a tv series with Batman actually in it, so long as the suits are scared nobody will pay to see the big screen versions in the pipeline.

That's one reason I like Person of Interest. it's as close as we are ever likely to get to a real Batman series.  It's very much in the same spirit and our characters face the same types of problems Batman does so if you close your eyes and squint it can pass for a Batman tv series.

Today I learned that Tommy Wiseau has a TV series called the Tommy Wi-Show...

Legendary cult filmaker Tommy Wiseau (The Room) is kidnapped by aliens and forced to play video games on a distant moon base for an unknown purpose...

I can't tell if you're talking about simultaneous orgasms or gay sex, Phrinke.

Or maybe both?  :p

"Twin Peaks", simultaneous orgasms, and gay sex (provided you have simultaneous orgasms) are all awesome. But renting "Twin Peaks" is easiest.

 May the squeeing commence .

I do hope this is also sold separately as I have the DVDs for the series.

Had I the money, this would be enough to convince me to buy a Blu Ray player post haste
