Context is key! Regaurdless of that though everyone's entitled to their oppinon on tv/movies.![]()
Context is key outside of off-topic, where moronathons* are not allowed.
Here, if you put something in context, you're doing it wrong ;-)

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.
^What is this list you speak of?
Why, my Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Bottom 10! video of course! ^_^

Gaffer, have you thought of doing a top 10 of ds9 as well? Could be fun.
The killing of all of the valiant crew could go on there :)

okay so I've started watching the 1978 Battlestar Galactica - from the start. There are some things I like but it's pretty clear that the '03 reboot took the better elements and forged something much more interesting.
One thing that stands out though is just how bad the effects are - not merely in terms of quality but the way they are done - i mean, you can see the rods holding up the ship models and the camera often moves in a way that when composited it looks as though the ships are panning sideways - that alone is really distracting.
3 episodes down - 21 to go.
has anyone seen Galactica 1980?
Edward James Olmos will always be my Admiral.

Yes. The best episode was the one Starbuck was in. (and the best episode of the original was the last one)
BSG... how I miss you...
I watched Crossroads Pt 2 earlier today. The last 15 minutes still give me goosebumps.
Last tv show seen: Community. Quickly becoming one of my favorite sitcoms of all time.
Crossroads part 2 rocks on at least a few levels. it feels like it coulda been one episode but they stretched it into two - but it's got enough good bits that I can forgive that.
I gotta agree re: Olmos but Lorne Green was also quite good from what I've seen.
Community is underrated.
On the subject of 1stBSG I tried to watch it in it's entirety. I just lost interest a few episodes in. I don't know why. I just haven't had the desire to watch another episode.

Community is so underrated I can't even understand it.
Just watch 30 Rock's 100th episode and it was awesome. A lot of guest stars and unlike most shows they all were funny. Tom Hanks FTW!
Saw the new South Park episode yesterday, a huge thumbs up, if just for the scenes with Cartman alone! ROFL!!
M*A*S*H
Been watching Voyagers! lately. It was a favorite of mine as a lad, but I hardly remembered anything about it. Well, it's still a lot of fun! I love how they can jump several times in one episode rather than just sticking to one place the whole time. That was a good plot device.

I love the original. As for the special effects, you have to understand the show was made just shortly after the first Star Wars film, and was a TV show and not a big budget movie.
As for Galactica 1980, absolutely awful! The original Battlestar Galactica ended on a perfect note, IMHO.
The only good episode of Galactica 1980 is the one with Starbuck and the one Cylon stuck on a planet.

^That is the only episode of it I watched the whole way through. That was actually an unused/uncompleted episode of the original BSG that they reworked to explain what happened to Starbuck. In the original BSG script for that episode he got rescued, of course.

I don't know... I've absolutely loved the last few years of South Park, rarely a bad episode, but the second half of last season was dud after dud after dud.
Though it was much better than the worthless humorless episodes of the second half of last season, I really didn't think Wednesday's episode was that great overall, and in fact, I found it downright disgusting to a large degree... However, yeah, all the stuff with Cartman was pretty much fantastic.
Looks like the next series on my to-watch list (after Twin Peaks) will be the original BSG.
Chuck!!!!! Obviously, it's like the day for it afterall! I want to see next episode now!

I can't tell you if you'll like it but I'm having a good time so far. I'm about halfway through [Pegasus FTW] and it's fun comparing what's different, what's similar, etc..
One thing i can say is that if i'd watched it a few years back I'd probably have thought it was crap and trailed off. I have more appreciation for it now than i would have in the past. And it makes me appreciate the 2003 series even more, so there's that.
One thing I find really distracting at the moment is that they use the same music theme for just about everything. - someone is brushing their teeth - Cue dramatic theme tune!!
Oh yeah - and the dialogue - they have their own terms for units of measure but this isn't just going imperial to metric - almost all the units have similar extremely sounding words - it's really hard to follow sometimes.
aside from that the dialogue is pretty contemporary and jarring - people say things like "oh my god!" but elsewhere we are led to believe they are polythiest - little things like that.
I'm divided on whether I should watch Galactica 1980. I might for completion sake but it looks godawful - more like a M*A*S*H* spin-off than BSG series 2!
Well, after returning from the alternate universe yesterday (because I was battling my evil doppelgänger) I managed to nick a few dvds from there.
Looking forward to watching seasons 2-9 of firefly
;)

For the last few days I've been Chuckin' it up... err, that doesn't sound right... I mean I've been watching Chuck over the last few days. It's okay. Doesn't really stand out as anything spectacular though.
Oh man, and my girlfriend has been watching Bones... the writing on that show is almost consistently bad and often drops into the realm of agonizing. I don't know if earlier seasons were better and the cast is just getting bored at this point, but sometimes the delivery of their lines are (impressively) almost as bad as the dialogue they are given.
