Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story - even as a student, Todd Haynes made inventive and subversive biopics.
One Hand Clapping - despite being so short, was still a pretty good glimpse at the Wings sessions.
Just saw megalopolis, and it’s as terrible as they say…
Also, for some reason, they showed the trailer for the new venom movie TWICE at my screening.

I guess Megalopolis is growing on me now, since I’ve had more time to think it over.
Updated top 10 for the year:
1.Dune: Part Two
2.Alien: Romulus
3.Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
4.Inside Out 2
5.Civil War
6.Young Woman and the Sea
7.Deadpool & Wolverine
8.Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
9.Megalopolis (so bad that it’s good)
10.Drive-Away Dolls (so bad that it’s good)
I’m starting to have second thoughts about Megalopolis again. I think I’m gonna take it off my Top 10 for the year, and put Kung Fu Panda 4 back.
The film The Wild Robot is a story of found family and learning how to adapt even if you don’t think you’re prepared.
I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.
Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.

Superman 4 The Quest for Peace. Worse than I remembered it being. Awful special effects, the guy who plays nuclear man is like carboard and ridiculous. Worst compositing I have ever seen on a feature film the transparency when they fly is laughable.
You go from portraying the Russians just as regular people even their cosmonauts are like our astronauts, then they become cartoon villains.
the guy who plays nuclear man is like carboard and ridiculous.
Out of everyone in the cast, he’s the one who emotes the strongest, so I fail to see where “cardboard” factors into the equation.
Gods for some, miniature libertarian socialist flags for others.
Should have been more plain, he comes off as a WWF 1980s wrestler.
Not really a movie, but I just watched the new South Park special “The End of Obesity” and really enjoyed it.

I purposefully omitted superhero films this time. Getting sick of superheroes.

That’s a wild take and a serious accusation and completely off topic.

I always like to watch something 1980s. Like Back to the Future. No matter how many times I’ve watched it, I always do a rewatch at some point. Such a good symphonic score as well. Marty the slacker. Who kind of is an accidental hero.
Michael J Fox is absolutely brilliant. I can’t picture Eric Stotz at all playing this role.

After a few days of filming everyone, Stoltz included, agreed that he just wasn’t right for the role.
Nausicaa, my Japanese blu-ray just arrived. Totally blown away by how beautiful this animated film is. And from 1984 no less. Its intrigued me so much I want to reread the Manga.
